I am a veteran criminal law attorney who has tried more than 300 criminal jury trials, handled thousands of other criminal cases, racially-divisive cases, etc. We have dozens of "citizen lawyers" on Free Republic who are posting insane, inane, wrong, and crazy "facts," "law," and conclusions. I have studied this case inside and out. Let me give you some insight, and feel free to post some questions....
Wishing I had time to do an outline of the pertinent facts. Ping for later.
The video of the house under construction showed Arbery go into the garage, then walking out. Then going around the house into the backyard and minutes later leaving through the front door, as if he had gained entry in the back of the house when he could not get in through the garage. At that point Arbery apparently realized someone was watching him from the trees in the yard across the street and started running.
Within minutes two police cars drove down the street, the second one a few minutes after the first one was driving at a very high rate of speed. It isn't difficult to figure that the first police car was in response to the first two 911 calls, and the second police car was responding after the confrontation with the McMichaels occurred.
And?
They did not use deadly force to effectuate an arrest. Their truck was parked in a road, the younger McMichael was carrying a shotgun, and the elder McMichael with standing in the bed of a pick up truck with his gun holster. They asked him to stop. The deadly force came when the deceased decided to run 14 feet and attack the guy with the shotgun.
You are so funny!!! I wish you and your domestic partner the best!!
You are correct. From what we know at the time, none of this is comparable.
No, Arbery stole his paragraphs. They were in his back pocket when he was shot.
Who brought the hammer? I cannot imagine jogging/running distance with a hammer in hand.
What they did was wrong. I wish I could be on the jury. None of your legal issues matter
Your ignorance is on full display. Legal issues dont matter? The truth doesnt matter? The facts dont matter? The law doesnt matter?
Greg McMichael would know about Arbery’s prior weapons charge from being the investigator on Arbery’s shoplifting charge.
Thank you for the formatting. A truly charitable act.
Thanks!
My educated guess is that Arbery had an accomplice that drove him there or he had a car parked somewhere. This neighborhood is isolated and on a peninsula. There would be no reason for him to just be walking through the neighborhood.
But, he failed to call the cops about that. He let some armed felon prowl his neighborhood.
White hiking boots?
sorrry, i thought the sarcasm was upfront.
McMichael had no idea if Arbery was armed. He hadn’t frisked him. *sigh*
