OOPS!
Forgot to say that I’m a guy!
(Really old, but an old guy just the same!)
I gave up and the endless scrubbing with a Norelco and went back to a disposable in the shower. Do it by feel, no beard to trim or such.
My one try at a foil had me returning it immediatley. Rotary worked, just misses a lot and required a lot of repetition to get a close shave.
Norelco
Electric razors rule !
Been using them decades.
Theyre sooooo easy. ! Its ridiculous
I’d suggest going online and Google ‘The best electric razors for less than $50,00.
There is a Braun S-4 for a little more than $50’00. I had one for years and liked it a lot.
Good luck.
Truth is right. Norelco is a great razor at very good prices
Remmington DuraBlade. It’s a trimmer, nor a traditional razor, but it works very well for shaving with one-lifetime blade and a lithium battery that charges easily...all for under 30 dollars.
No electric razor replaces a blade. I use the Remmington between shaves & It is really a nice supplement to a blade shave.
"Shaves as close as a blade."
I prefer the Remington style, (like the Braun). Try a remington to see if you like that type, much less expensive than the Braun. Also switching from blades takes the face a while. I never liked the round blade type like Norelco.
Philips Norelco OneBlade Face/Body model, their lithium battery model
I have been using this one for five years:
https://philips.factoryoutletstore.com/details/57587/norelco-6955.html
it’s not made anymore but if I had to replace it (I think I paid approx $55 for it) I would get something similar.
It’s not waterproof, but if you use just a few drops of a pre-shave like this, it gives a smooth, comfortable shave:

The trick that I remember for switching from blades to electric is:
a/ give yourself 1/2 dozen shaves for your skin to get used to it, and for the razor to “bend” to your jaw line.
b/ for a unit like Norelco with multiple electric cutters, BEFORE you take them apart to clean them, RTFM:
“Do not mix up the cutters and combs as the shaving performance may be adversely affected for several weeks before optimal shaving performance is restored.
“remove and clean one cutter and comb at a time.
“Do not clean more than one cutter and comb at a time, since they are all matching sets. If you accidentally interchange the cutters and combs, it could take several weeks before optimal shaving performance is restored.”
Good luck.
Long ago tried a Norelco and found I didn’t like it at all. So have been using a razor since but lately I’ve considered trying the solo micro touch razor I’ve seen on TV.
It is about $20 so the investment doesn’t seem bad if I don’t like it. FWIW.
I use a Braun every day and have for over a decade. It works very well.
I still use a double edge saftey razor. Ive shaved in the shower for 30+ years now without a mirror. Close your eyes and let the force guide you.
Believe it or not but Panasonic makes a budget priced electric that is cordless. It works reasonably well.
My parents bought me a Philishave 555 three head electric razor when I was a teenager.
I replaced the heads at the half way point between then and now. I did not notice an improvement in the shave.
I bought foil shave type, cause the guy on TV said the shave was soooo good, he bought the company. POC plastic broke and the shaver was toast.
The Philips gave the better shave
