Clearly there are aspects of this infection which we do not know yet. My hunch is that there is a genetic disposition to the way each petson responds. Some...no symptoms...some young people ...death....some old people...survive. The most susceptible are those whose condition is exacerbated by the effect of the virus. Heart, lung, low oxygenation conditions are affected when the lung is attacked. Then you have the cytokine storm. My hunch...a dysregulated innate immune system....genetic or acquired...unknown. Hunch: genetic...otherwise everyone would get it.
Sadly...we will find out who is at risk....only after many have perished. In the meantime, stay well.
Just my 2 cents.

Well we do know the Swedes have a CCR5 delta 32 quirk that sort of protects them against HIV...and it could with this as well.

One person here with a scientific background thought it might be possible that I might actually do better with COVID 19 because my body deals with oxidative stress on a daily basis. That would be great....but ....as I sit here with the second day of a dyspnea ..I am not so sure.

Thank goodness I Have had it before or I would be thinking I for sure had Covid 19 since my neighbor has it.
