Upstate NY (Ithaca area), WTF Effect snow still coming down (they call it Lake Effect, I call it WTF Effect). Covered up the flowers last night, hopefully in time.

A bunch of goldfinches are playing out back in the thorn trees (safety from the noisy crows) and their bright yellow flashes are slowly lifting my morning mood.

Fairbanks, still little patches of snow here and there. My tatoe patch should be dry enough to roto-till nx week; luv the Yukon golds. I have 20k carrot seed too; bolero and sugarsnax.

I'm going to try purple cone flower this summer. Years back, I had friends who made their own echinachia and it was potent. I hope it's not too cold for them here; in a raised bed.

I enjoy eating outta the garden as much as hunting and fishing.

growing up, every July 4th we'd head up from Binghamton past Ithaca to Cayuga state park on the lake....we'd establish our bank head on picnic tables and then head up to pick cherries....of course we'd stuff our little faces while we picked....

The two do not go together. Maybe call God effect, which the goldfinches also are.
