As we all await in our homes hoping for some good news so we can resume our once active lives, there has never been a better time to reflect on the glory days of Rock. Attempting to pick an all time top 10 list has proven a great excuse to listen to some of the all time great rock anthems, but has also brought the pain of leaving legends of rock without the ranking they deserve.
There are far too many apologies to even begin listing here, although The Who and the Jimi Hendrix experience were the next two to be chosen. The desire to throw in a deserved left field selection like The Bee Gees(pre Disco of course) or tragically underrated Australian gems like The Skyhooks and Cold Chisel was unfortunately thwarted due to the quality bands that would be forced to be left out.
The criteria for this list came down to a few key factors, including worldwide recognition, the quantity of quality singles and albums produced, the band's overall impact and influence, and the ability to be embraced by a wide audience. While Top 40 success was not the sole criteria here, it was definitely taken into consideration, as was the band's ability to create music that has lasted the test of time.
So while this writer hopes you get some Satisfaction from this list, please Don't Cry on the comments section and learn to just Let it Be if you disagree.

The elephant in the room.
She Talks in Stereo is beautiful
Meaningless is another winner
Amazing and innovative guitar work... or at least it seems to a guy like me who is totally clueless about which guitarist played which chords first.
Figures...
I didn’t see REO when they came to our little town, but I heard them from across the street from the opera house, where the teen gearheads I hung out with usually parked on weekend evenings.
We were all about putting our hard earned dollars into the wheels we drove. No record albums, no going on dates or to concerts. No buying of the current clothing fashions.
The thing is, before “Hi Infidelity” REO, was a guy’s rock band.
But once they started doing the ballads, and chicks started to like them, they were ruined.
Ballads...grrrr..i can’t stand them and I’m a girl.
I understand his Ol Black Eyes Is Back tour has been postponed due to Covid19.
Dazed and Confused, what a great movie. Captured that time period, perfectly.

"This is not, Mel Tormé"
Gene and Geddy have a common bond in that both had Holocaust survivors as parents.

I read "Street Player". Danny's style really didn't fit the 80s Chicago.
They certainly had the best album title ever, “You Broke My Heart So I Busted Your Jaw”
Mick Jones of Foreigner, and Gary Wright (of ‘Dreamweaver’ fame)
Lol! Guess that’s one of the reasons that I like my wife so much. When we first met, we talked for three hours. I found out that she was like me: AM/FM was sufficient for music. We both had interests that didn’t leave money for subsidizing musicians. We’re still that way 42 yrs later. She likes a well furnished home and kitchen. I like a garage with plenty of good tools.
Bingo!
Yep, I never wanted to date girls that liked the same bands I did, my music was my domain, and I didn’t want to share it. Because then you inevitably start arguing about which songs of the band you like more. They could have their disco or whatever.
In the R&R Hall of Fame, which is kind of a joke, but Jim still rocks.
