Excess deaths is the total number of dead over a time period minus the normal expected number of dead for that time of year based on historical data. There are some Fearpers who post data showing that there are excess deaths in NYC and in Italy. There have been excess deaths due to CV - but these excess deaths still don’t make it rise beyond a flu season. Note that the CV deaths stats from CDC are not relevant to this - what is relevant is how many people are dying of all causes compared to how many normally die.

The CDC data is on a lag and the disclaimers say it is possible for some deaths to be 8 weeks late to make it to the data. Watching these numbers for almost 8 weeks it seems that changes to the data beyond 3 weeks appear to be immaterial. The normal number of deaths, according to the CDC, is approximately 57k per week in the USA over the time period. The maximum number of USA deaths according to worldometer occurred the week before April 11 (so we are on the downswing) - that week had 13k excess deaths. These are the numbers to watch over the coming weeks but there is still nothing to indicate that the number of excess deaths will go beyond influenza levels.
In other news...why did Governor Abbott feign outrage when a Democrat judge made a ruling that put a hairdresser in jail for refusing to close because she wanted to feed her kids? Democrats will usually rule/judge in a way that we don’t like so why pass the stupid lockdown rule to begin with? The lockdown rule was always going to be interpreted by Dems in a way that is tyrannical. Abbott should be held responsible for his stupid executive order.

Ya, because it’s adult to avoid the truth, I never said one word about whether we should avoid social distancing, I said it’s going to get worse, and it is, and when winter hits it’s on.
My numbers are correct, 30k a day new cases, 2k+ a day dying, it’s going to go up, not down as social distancing is relaxed.
