Disney will reopen its Shanghai theme park on May 11, the company said during an earnings conference call on Tuesday. The park has been closed since January 25.

Disney reopened Disneytown, Wishing Star Park and the Disneyland Hotel in Shanghai in March. This will be the first Disney theme park to reopen after being closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We will take a phased approach with limits on attendance, using an advanced reservation and entry system, controlled guest density using social distancing and strict government required health and prevention procedures,” CEO Bob Chapek said on the call. “These include the use of masks, temperature screenings and other contact tracing and early detection systems.”

We’ll see.

I think their smarmy arrogance is cracking at the seems and they are ripe for a full blown outbreak.

I have tickets for Disneyland in CA in hand—good until Jan.

From their website, it seems they tentatively plan to reopen in June. I know the Disney CEO is on the CA governor’s “economic re-opening council” so they likely know.

Disney could go bankrupt......the only thing they have making money is streaming and merchandise....

ESPN will have nothing...

The parks cannot make money at fifty percent..

Movies are out...

Rumor has it that the Disney Parks are thinking they’ll be taking peoples temperatures at the gate and making them all wear masks inside the parks if they open at all. But I’m dubious they will open, maybe in California but the Orlando one sits in what is naturally a swamp and without the constant maintenance it normally gets it is supposedly a real mess already.
