Donald Trump Jr. offered to walk a woman down the aisle on her wedding day after she posted a video explaining her “liberal” parents rejected her over her conservative fiancé, who she says they “hate.”
“So my parents hate my fiancé because he’s a conservative and they’re liberal and they refuse to go to our wedding,” the woman said, explaining they gave her an ultimatum of “choosing between him or them.”
“So, I chose myself in that I chose what would make me happiest in the long run. And my mother told me I was incapable of being loved or being in a relationship because I was assaulted when I was 17. So, I chose my fiancé, she said, announcing that, because of the rift with her parents, she will be walking herself down the aisle.
“So, if anyone has a dad that would like to walk me down the aisle, let me know,” she added.

I must respectfully disagree. As I see it, it takes a lot to invalidate the Commandment “honor your mother and your father”. A political disagreement - or even a marriage disagreement - isn’t enough.
If the parents won’t accept a child’s spouse, and won’t attend the marriage, that is their choice. In that case, a separation might be the best thing.
But continue to honor them. Send cards/emails on their birthdays and on holidays. If that do no not respond, that is their choice. But continue to honor them.
You are not an equal with your parents. So cut them as much slack as you can.

They spoke about many things which led to how this pandemic was panning out and the neglect and mismanagement and who she felt was responsible, her friend mentally shakened and close to tears told her she can no longer be her friend because she is for trump. I can relate. Of course that view is incorrect. The word “obey” is nowhere in the Commandment.
In so many cases a parent has hurt a child. Maybe this was done on purpose. May it was done inadvertently. Maybe it was done out of ignorance. So the child decides to hurt the parent back. That is not the way it is supposed to work.
Of course, all bets are off if that hurt was so very extreme that any contact would be inappropriate. But I don’t see that in this posting.
Sounds like the daughter is making them live with their idiotic decision.
