We now order what we want from HD online.
In about 2 hours, they notify us that order is ready.
So we drive to their parking lot past the long lines of grim faced people waiting to get in.
Then we park in the designated pickup parking spots and dial the # on the little bill board.
In a few minutes they bring the items to your vehicle and load them into your vehicle.
Then, we drive past the grim in line people and go home.
On weekends Lowe’s in limiting access to their stores. Home Depot too. I can assure you that their sales are above normal right now.
Immune systems in the very young are extraordinarily robust.
This will all pass. Right now the media is scaring the living daylights out of people.

Same thing in Reno. Almost like a normal (?) day. We saw a Greyhound bus downtown the other day and were both like “HUH?”. Who’s riding it and where are they going? LOL!

Lowes is restricting access too. If they’re not in your area, it’s because demand isn’t high enough.

I spent some time in LE (USAF-OSI) not nearly as long as you but people still piss me off. The older I get the more they piss me off.

I can tell you my wife and I will not be going to any restaurants until next year, we will basically be practicing self quarantine regardless of the economy opening up, so will probably half the country. This will be the new-normal, the country will not return to normal for years to come, if ever.
We did our first pickup dinner order last week. I placed the order on line to a favorite restaurant.
They texted me that at 6:15 pm our order could be picked up.
We drove to their designated parking area (it was loaded with vehicles with people waiting for their order). In a few minutes after texting them, that we were there. They brought out our order, gave it to us and we left.
The Lowes I went to Saturday was absolutely mobbed. Had to wait in line just to get a shopping cart. Wait to pay was more than 20 minutes. Never saw it like that before the pandemic.
LOL...You live in an alternate reality.... Going to restaurants, bars and vacations is what singles and childless couples live for..... especially professionals who live in small apartments in expensive big cities.... Take those things away from them and they will completely lose their minds.... You think they’re all the sudden gonna decide to move to a house in the suburbs or a small town and have kids, and sit down for home cooked family dinners every night like people used to do?... Not happening, my friend..... we are living in post-Christian America, where children are raised to think that your career and leisure activities are all that matters in life
A lot of folks would need a new set of “Grampers” if the knew what was inside the semi their driving next to. Or the box car on the train going through town.
Shorter waits for restaurant tables and no Karen Democrats when you get there. I fail to see the downside.
