I can tell you my wife and I will not be going to any restaurants until next year, we will basically be practicing self quarantine regardless of the economy opening up, so will probably half the country. This will be the new-normal, the country will not return to normal for years to come, if ever.

The new normal is now most likely the normal.

Mankind is now a filthy animal where wearing masks to keep us from infecting each other will be advised, how wonderful.

Hopefully, this will mean smaller queues at busy locations...

Give it another 2 months and see how they respond...they remind me of those who say they will leave America...all talk and no action...

“Ha... went to Lowes this weekend, damn near impossible to find a parking spot.”

Unlike Homey Deport that put in restrictions like making people wait outside. I won’t got to HD. Screw ‘em.

So I guess that means a lot of urban Libs will be selling their apartments and buying houses in Flyover country, where it’s easy to social distance...... Yeah, right, that will happen just as soon as all the Libs who promised to move out of the country when Trump won actually leave

Nice day in New England yesterday. There was just as much traffic on the streets as there would be in any early May Sunday.

Funny that. My parents lived through typhoid epidemics, the Spanish flu, all sorts of diseases, TB and managed to die at 93 and 88.

Unless this Corona virus has been bioengineered to be something so lethal as to wipe out most of humanity, I’d say get outside.

Question is: Do the PTB know this is something created and therefore have unknown effects?

Up until this point in human history, life has been a condition with a 100 percent mortality rate. I do not think we should leave our homes until government comes up with a guaranteed cure.

The whiny liberals will still try to shelter in place, libertarians and conservatives will ‘truck on’.

They will put on their inside masks, when they wake up and then put on their outside masks to go outside. If they even go outside.

Then, they will write long letters to the news paper editors complaining about the killers, (us) who will never wear a mask at anytime.

Good! Smaller crowds for those of us that decide not to live our lives full of fear.

Oh my gosh wow!

When I drove my newborn son home from the hospital, I was petrified. It felt so strange like, he was so new, with his life so young, that he could be snatched away from me at any moment.

Most people I can go through a day and have 0 interaction with.

I’ve been going about life as usual for the most part.

The day after the next election all of this foolishness will be forgotten as the political usefulness of the induced economic coma will be gone.

Sadly, this really doesn’t surprise me. Our slowly country was headed toward being a nation of adult babies ever since the Welfare State and Great Society told us that we didn’t have to take care of ourselves. We place safety and comfort above all else, even if it means subjecting ourselves to an authoritarian government. The pandemic just gave us a shove in that direction. Just sit at home watching TV and surfing the internet, afraid to go outside, and let government or someone else take care of you. That’s the new American Dream.

More fear mongering.
It is all about managing risks. This is just a snapshot in time. When this passes, more people will take more “risk” and venture out into public more and more — even the most concerned. For about a year, maybe, there will be more caution. But once the danger passes, things will get back to a normal. Look at the 1920’s party scene right after the Spanish Flu pandemic.
