An organization called We Have Rights is in downtown Los Angeles and Huntington Beach, where beaches were closed by order of Gov. Gavin Newsom after large crowds descended last weekend.
In Huntington Beach, the demonstrators were shoulder-to-shoulder with beachgoers defying the beach closure orders. Several people were spotted riding bicycles and carrying surfboards to the water in defiance of the governors orders.
Im here because I want our salon open, said protestor Tami Avants. I think everybody is essential.
An estimated 2,500 to 3,000 people were just feet from the shores, calling for the governor to end shutdown orders.
The lockdown needs to stop, said Cypress resident Robin Itzler. We need to open up the economy. You cant have a country of everybody hiding at home.
In downtown Los Angeles, protesters from the same movement called for a walking protest and to gridlock the streets in and around Los Angeles City Hall.
We can take other precautions, said Eric Rodriquez, who joined the protest downtown. But to shut it down? Its a little too extreme.
One of the main issues for the protestors was the loss of jobs since nonessential businesses were forced to close.

I don’t hear any reports yet about what’s going on at Orange County beaches today? Is the California state patrol there? Are people ignoring them and going to the beach anyway?.... Any update would be appreciated!

Gov Nuisance has ordered all OC beaches closed. That means SD and LA beaches will be more crowded increasing risks to people.
Aint it funny how they force everyone to the same spot to keep them separated?
Aint it funny how they force everyone to the same spot to keep them separated?
the liberal bureaucratic mind deserves to be studied and feared.
I knew about the order to close OC beaches, was just curious if people were obeying it or not
need a report for today maybe someone will post
listening to bottom of the hour news KFI report. people out and drivers honking horns in LA protesting. Nothing about OC beaches.
Surfers were out early at Newport and Huntington. A few people at Newport, some with tents and umbrellas. Newport put up orange net barriers this morning, but I don’t see cops hassling folks. Huntington looks deserted.

I was there.
Good work and keep up the pressure.
Not political.
Wrong. All political beliefs are gained by personal experience and peer pressure. They are learning not to like tyrant Democrats. It is summer in paradise and the people who live in LA will not stay locked up in their houses. Expect mass resistance from the young and old alike.
This may not happen in San Francisco because their summers suck but if they have unusually warm weather none of those people, rush and poor alike, in the Bay Area have AC. I pray for a heat wave.
Jeb!, is that you?

What is a Jeb?.
There was a post at the Reopen California site on Facebook that there would be a attempt to storm the beach at Seal Beach at 12:00 noon today. Facebook apparently kept taking it down and a few minutes after I read it, it was down again. I might have gone down there if I had known about it earlier.
At 2:00 PM tomorrow, May 3, there will be a protest in Etiwanda at Foothill Blvd. and Day Creek Road, near Bass Pro Shops.
