Was at Costco yesterday. The meat was in full stock. Wife was at supermarket, same thing.
I haven’t seen much drop in prices at all.
Can someone give me a before and after in their area?
filet mignon ? get me a ribeye! med rare!
ribeye is simpler meat? Its the KING!
Yummy my favorite filet mignon with green beans and twice baked potato. :0)
I’ve been surprised to see supermarkets in MA still having some empty shelves. It’s not really a big deal, but some items are still hard to get. I don’t see this pandemic as a true crisis. I don’t think people are still hoarding. I think people have stocked up but are now probably maintaining what they have, not increasing their stores. Does anyone have 600 rolls of toilet paper? 10 pounds of yeast? 100 boxes of pasta?
And I don’t see why supply chains are imperiled. I do understand why the lack of demand from restaurants could ripple through the food supply in various ways. But overall, I find it odd to see some shortages.
filet mignon is so overrated. I’ll take a good ribeye
Meat demand has not fallen, only restaurant demand for meat. There is no reason for a supply chain issue. I’m forced to be grilling steaks and ribs more often myself these days, but my meat intake has not changed.
We just picked up a beautiful london broil at Sprouts for $2.99 lb. Had half of it on the grill last night.
We picked up a USDA Prime beef tenderloin at Costco this week for $9.99 a pound. Gonna have some delicious rare Filet Minon for dinner tonight.
