I actually kinda’ hate pizza these days. The older I get, the less I like it.
Kids and teenager food I guess.

I must admit that I didn’t know that pizza was vilified. Sure, a few idiots will vilify anything that other people enjoy. But pretty much everyone I know in the real world enjoys pizza of one sort of another now and again. In fact, I think it’s just about one of America’s most beloved foods.

There was a post a couple weeks ago here with a good homemade pizza dough recipe and, along with it, a white sauce recipe. It sounded so good I bought a pizza stone for my Weber charcoal grill. Cant wait to try it out!

There are a thousand different sytles, varieties, and tastes of pizza out there; some rustic, some authentic, some Americanized until they're unrecognizable frozen food (think Totino's and that slop. And while I'm venting, who the hell came up with the idea of pizza bagels?). Every pizza is a new adventure. Keep looking, you'll find your niche.

Them’s fighting words here in the north east. You can keep your tofu salads just don't try to take away our pizza. Also they are one of the few locally owned businesses that are open.

Piuza is a food that optimizes taste over everything else.
The ingredients are prsented to taste on it’s surface, which is non-nutritious.
Economically it’s a ‘bad’ choice, practically though...

I make it all the time and everyone still gets excited when ever I do.I have pizza stones and extra large pizza pans for whatever they’re in the mood for. I even make a good Sicilian pizza.

Growing up in northern NJ, my family used to buy pizza once a week. I remember the mozzarella cheese being gooey and stretching when you pulled away your slice.
I've had pizza all across America, and I've noticed that the mozzarella is not the same. It doesn't stretch as much. Why is that? I really miss a New York pizza. Nothing fancy...single topping - pepperoni.

Because instead of eating it, I do just about as well slicing it into rectangular strips and pasting it around my midriff. And yes, I love eating it. I just don’t.

When I was in Italy some years ago I had an entirely cheeseless pizza on paper thin crust. I didn’t gain an ounce. All that extra cheese and crust was an adaptation to American preferences as the Italian immigrants started selling their pizza to the broader market. How fattening pizza is depends on whether you eat it like an Italian or an American.

I dunno, they out so much crap in there other than plain cheese and tomato sauce, it is unhealthy , imo. Pizza was definitely the PT killer for me in my military days. I could eat bacon and greasy burgers and be relatively fine, not so with pizza
