Anyone else see on the horizon millions and millions applying for Social Security Disability benefits? If this happens as I suspect it will our fight against the Kung-Flu fallout is about to get very bad.
This could financially bankrupt the country.
Us all staying home has added 20 yrs to our lives so I can see this happening. I filed for unemployment benefits weeks ago here in Commiefornia(Independent contractor) have yet to receive a dime, meanwhile the illegals are getting money thrown at them by our commie idiot Governor and mayor

This is a different time. We know what has happened since SARS.
Surely some will try to sue the US government but I'm not sure that will go anywhere -> China and WHO seem to be the appropriate targets.
Don't forget though, and I say this not with glee, the virus is trimming a significant number of elderly people who cease upon death to be a financial burden on the system.
I have not run the numbers at all ... but that does seem a balancing factor.

doen’t matter SosSec and especially ssdi are bankrupt and are about to get hair cuts. in the law when outlays overtake income benefits are reduced, first will be ssdi. if I remember correctly I think it gets cut like 50%
I would like to think that POTUS will not allow this to happen. I know that 0bama facilitated millions going permanently onto the SS DI rolls. It probably depends a lot on how many 0bama holdovers are in jobs to authorize or deny claims.

The free money from the government has conditioned people to expect government to give them an allowance.
Not only that, but the folks will demand MORE checks, reparations and forgiveness of what is legitimately owed.
Government has done things that it doesn’t have the right to do. It has invalidated valid contracts between individuals, specifically, it has allowed people to cheat landlords and not pay their rent. It has not “allowed” landlords to recover from this theft. Would they allow people to go into a store and walk out without paying? (Actually, they do. It’s called “looting” during a riot.)

Censorship of speech by private media against those who oppose the above, and the demonizing of such the MSM.
Persecution and prosecution by the government against protesters of compelled COVID-19 restrictions.
Prolonged food shortages.
Increasing reliance upon government.
Vast increase of a welfare class.
A form of Universal Basic Income being promised and incrementally provided.
Universal health care.
Vast increase of the national debt.
Substantial increase in taxes upon businesses and tax payers.
Income disparity reduced as all become poorer and dependent upon the government, except for those in government.
Increased trading of freedoms for promised security.
Increased surveillance and tracking of people.
Permanent restrictions on, and control of, movement and association and speech.
Required government registration in order to purchase goods and for travel, and to be part of large public meetings.
Increased restrictions on those marked as non-conformists, esp. those who oppose expresses disapproval of LGBTQ propaganda.
Churches whose beliefs conflict with state-imposed speech and its restrictions padlocked or converted to state use.

As a workers comp case manager, I’ve had clients find an ambulance chaser attorney and apply for SSDI for a broken thumb-the minute someone took a good look at the claim, it was denied/rescinded and the idiot client had to return any ill-gotten gains, sometimes with a penalty for fraud.
Unless there is a permanent disability resulting from the injury/illness that renders the person pretty much unemployable, they would not be awarded benefits-I hope that holds true for anyone who tries to claim on this virus-there is no info or proof thus far that the Wuhan virus causes permanent disabling conditions that affect someone’s employability...

I agree. it was designed to get rid of the elderly and those with underlying health issues.
Heck, under Osama Obama folks were qualifying for SS disability because of mental anguish.
