Both of you make good points. Fitton's always had an ego, as shown by him celebrating "Wear your shirt one size too small day."

Never having been subject to that kind of acclaim, I can only imagine the pressures on the ego.

He could also be playing a part, but if we can see through it, I'm sure the derps can. He might be trying to make them think if they mash Flynn hard enough, Trump will pardon him, and all the investigative stuff will go away. The derps want this over, cause they don't want to have stuff come to light.

But as it gets harder to keep the weight off I begin to see your point.
