Not sure. I used to think this came from bats but I currently believe it came from the Wuhan lab where they were researching stuff to increase their prestige and help humanity - but they were in over their heads. The only rule in China, IMO, is “do whatever helps the country”. Ethics and truth are irrelevant.
Don’t be so naïve to think that Wuhan isn’t a Bio-weapon lab working on defense of their troop readiness.
ALL industrialized nations have these labs. Even the USA.
