Yeah. I spent nearly 10 of my 20+ years in the Army stationed four times in Germany. I was on orders for my 5th trip there when they first gulf war broke out and after the war, they started bringing troops home and cutting forces in Germany, so my orders were rescinded. They, the Army assignment branch for my MOS (job) decided that Korea would be a nice place to visit. I told them no, I wasn’t going. If you are over 19 years of active duty, you can refuse an overseas assignment, but it locks you in to have to retire within the next year. So, I did that and retired. I told them I’d go to Germany again, or Italy, but no to Korea. I’d had my wonderful trip to the Far East, a little place called Vietnam, and I wasn’t doing that 19 hour plane trip again. So, I retired and called it a day.
Merkel ! ...isn’t there some descendant of Frederick the Great somewhere who could make Germany Germany again?
