The Controversial Experiments and Wuhan Lab Suspected of Starting the Coronavirus Pandemic
Newsweek ^ | 4/27/20 | FRED GUTERL , NAVEED JAMALI AND TOM O'CONNOR

Covid-19 has infected nearly 3 million people across the globe, initially ravaging China before hitting hardest in the West and leaving the United States as the most deeply-afflicted country, with more than 55,000 deaths as of April 27. Its origin remains the subject of not only scientific debate, but a politically charged dispute in the international community.

Initial assessments conducted by the Chinese government pointed to the city's Huanan Seafood Market as the likely cause of a natural outbreak of SARS-CoV-2, a new coronavirus that causes Covid-19. In the early days of the outbreak, local officials played down the possibility of human-to-human transmission of the virus and silenced doctors who spoke out about the growing outbreak. It may have undercounted deaths and the number of cases of Covid-19. A spurious theory that the U.S. deliberately planted the virus in Wuhan also started circulating.

In the early days, the prevailing theory of the virus' origins was that it, like SARS, arose in bats, passed to some other mammal such as a pangolin, and ultimately entered the population through the wild-animal markets.

By March, the wild-virus theory was still the most likely explanation of the origin of SARS-CoV-2--but it was starting to look a little ragged around the edges. For one thing, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, not far from the animal markets in downtown Wuhan, houses the world's largest collection of coronaviruses from wild bats, including at least one virus that bears a resemblance to SARS-CoV-2. What's more, Wuhan Institute of Virology scientists have for the past five years been engaged in so-called "gain of function" (GOF) research, which is designed to enhance certain properties of viruses for the purpose of anticipating future pandemics. Gain-of-function techniques have been used to turn viruses into human pathogens capable of causing a global pandemic.

NewsWEAK, I know. However this extremely long article contains the most comprehensive discussion on the topic I’ve seen anywhere, including some supposed quotes from a classified U.S. study. It also discusses the PREDICT project which is rarely if ever discussed in the media. It ends ceremoniously with a recent quote from the US doctor who participated in some of the first GoF experiments in the Wuhan lab, in which he finally appears in some stage of regret.

Mainstream press appears to be engaged in a limited hangout over something they know will become public soon.

The pressure from the entire world will continue to grow, to accurately determine what happened. The totalitarian regime must believe it can only lie and conceal in order to remain in power, as that is what they continue to do, but those antics are only inviting further scrutiny.

“By Marc, the wild-virus theory was still the most likely explanation ...”

Not on FR. We had this thing nailed early on.

You had to read through the noise and emotions but here is where this thing was first exposed.

Only if you believe the Chicom's figures, which I don't.

Here’s some background on PREDICT in a recent article discussing Democratic Senators trying to save it (wonder why)?

The timing on the shutdown is rather curious...

Obama calls a halt to enhancement of viruses at Fort Detrick in 2014. Correct me if I missed it, but I didn’t see any mention of Dr. Fauci’s 3.7 million dollar transfer to the Wahun lab in 2014. Note the article identifies a 2015 date when the Wahun lab started its ‘gain of function’ work on the corona virus. Interesting timeline. Did we pay for the development of SARS CoV-2?

The key to this whole thing is Dr. Charles Lieber and the fact that his first discipline was nanotechnology. When Lieber first when to Wuhan in 2011 it was to participate in a nanotechnology forum. That is when it is believed he was recruited. It resulted in him receiving several millions of dollars in research grants to study at the University of Technology at Wuhan. This became known as Joint Nanokey Laboratories.

The lab later shifted and involved biology. He was visiting the lab several times a year trying to build up a nano-bio division.

I believe, in there, lies the key to why so many different outcomes and effects on people. The small "bits and pieces" and ground glass lungs, etc.

Remember the strange and ominous words of Jullian Assange in his last interview about breathing the magic dust.

USAID was running it?

Then there’s a good chance it was actually a CIA program. USAID is notorious for providing cover for CIA ops in foreign countries.

It unfortunately appears we, along with many other western governments, may have been funding at least some of the virus manipulations being done in the lab. However, China is adamantly claiming this particular virus was not in the lab, whereas if it had been created at our behest, surely that would have been announced by them as at least partial justification for their own implications.
