Maryland Sucks

Ok, so I'm tired of the state of Maryland blaming a 3d-party vendor for screwing up their unemployment website.

Maryland could do MUCH MORE to streamline the process.

My wife submitted an application over a month ago. She has heard NOTHING from the State considering her application.

And yet she's still expected to file WEEKLY certifications that say, yes, I'm STILL UNEMPLOYED.

Until today. The wonderful state of Maryland decided in the middle of all of this that a NEW WEBSITE AND NEW CONTRACTOR would be needed to handle the caseload.

Well, gee. Anyone who has EVER been involved in IT knows how that goes.

The weekly certification took all of 10 seconds. Now? There is a line. Not only is there a line but she's 200,000 PEOPLE BEHIND THE FRONT OF THE LINE!!! And this isn't to file for unemployment it's ONLY TO SAY SHE'S STILL UNEMPLOYED!!!

And in over a month SHE'S NOT RECEIVED A FREAKING DIME FROM THE STATE OF MARYLAND!!!!

They enjoy making her jump through hoops but, nope, no cash.

Hmmmm. Didn’t the Obama Administration blame the a 3rd party vendor for the non-working HealthCare.gov website , as well? Just saying.

LMAO!

My State’s unemployment system pretty much collapsed because they were still using 40 year old computers and software to process claims.

Maybe she should just get a job as an essential employee...

Oddly, I just saw a segment on the local Panama City TV station about Florida’s failed unemployment computer system.

In Montana: got our PPP loan quickly , got immediate unemployment benefits, now we’re opening up up Phase One today! Woo-hoo!

I’m surprised New Mexico’s hasn’t completely melted down. There’s been some days where it’s slow, but all in all not terrible.

Of course when you only have a population of 2 million, the numbers will not overwhelm a system as readily.

My wife submitted an application over a month ago. She has heard NOTHING from the State considering her application.

If she isn't working you should kick her to the curb and look for a woman who can contribute.

SHE'S NOT RECEIVED A FREAKING DIME FROM THE STATE OF MARYLAND!

Good for Maryland keeping freeloaders off the dole.

They enjoy making her jump through hoops

So she might find a job at the circus.
Glad there is a happy ending.

My sister is desperate and afraid. She is so upset about the unemployment website being down.

hummergunner isn’t worried about your sister. He’s an idiot that can barely form two sentences and even then if it only includes the word ‘blog’. Other than that, he’s clueless.

It wouldn’t be gub-mint if they didn’t blame someone else for their failures.

Is your sister from Maryland too?

There are also phone numbers to call though those may not work either.

Folks like Hummergunner have never worked. Never paid into the system like the rest of us who have toiled our whole lives to feed the beast and then idiots like Hummergunner berate us when we are due to finally get some money out of the system that has been setup to take from us our whole lives.

Just ignore the dumbass. Freepmail me if you have questions and I’ll see if I can help

I’m a truck driver. Considered essential. Wife’s a teacher. Not essential :)

We live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Thanks, I will mail you! I am fortunate to still have my job, although I have been furloughed two days a month and am working from home. I am 64, so I am not sure I will have a job still remaining when all of this is over, myself.

Actually, Hummergunner reminds me of Biden. I bet he even enjoys little boys bouncing on his knee.

back 20 years ago i was a field service IT guy that worked a lot of government contracts.
By far the worst maintained and oldest obsolete machines were in the federal government offices.

That fancy stuff you see on the tv shows....i don’t believe 95% of it.

Just keep in mind that in MD you can apply for unemployment if your hours have been reduced.

If in doubt APPLY. They can always say no and if your situation changes apply again!
