Similar crooners include;
Dick Haymes, who sang “The more I see you, the more I love you”.

Dick had a younger brother Bob Haymes.
Bob sang and wrote songs. His most famous was:
“That’s All” from 1952.

That music, my impression from what I recall hearing as a kid, is perfectly nailed by this cartoon:

How about Deek Watson from the Brown Dots. First to sing and write ‘For Sentimental Reasons’ 1939.

I love that song, have for years. Funny you should put that one up because I was just telling my husband last night how much I love that one, and this very version.

I didn’t put that up. You did. I just made it clickable.

Lol. After I did see yours I went back and put mine into Youtube and saw that it was the same song. I actually forgot I put that song up there because last night I was listening to One more for the road, by Sinatra and thinking how beautiful that song was. I assumed it was the one I was trying to link to.

Btw, how DID you get it to be clickable?

Ok, a liberal, but does a song proud. Wish she were not but here is Bette Midler doing One more for the road on Johnny Carson’s last show:
