Um, would it be wrong to inquire as to just what work they do, whether in the 4-hour days, or the generously supplied 7.5 hour days?

Everyone one of my former classmates, facebook contacts, and relatives who work for government (and thus have guaranteed wages) are out there fear-mongering about coronavirus, cheering the lock-down, and making fun of all protestors who come out against it.

Teachers and other government employees (except those with real jobs) are living on easy street right now. They’ll take forever-lockdown.

And if the teachers’ unions pension funds go bust, they’ll expect the non-essential taxpayers to bail them out.

It's their money. Let them blow it and go broke.

No bankruptcy. No bailouts. Let them stew in their own broth.

Teachers have to be paid in order for the union dues to be deducted and forwarded to the Democrat party.

It is this kind of crap why there should be no state bailout. Why should the rest of the country be required to pay for total mismanagement/corruption by Democrat states

FWIW, I have two adult children that are teachers. They are each spending many hours per class hour creating and transferring curriculum to fit online learning.

I wonder how they count hours working; teaching isn’t a punch-in, punch-out job. My wife has a reduced courseload, but between her status reports, adapting to new technology, chasing down the parents of all the students who don’t appear online, etc., she’s been putting in massively long days.
