The Packers were widely expect heavily in pass catchers during the 2020 NFL Draft given the talent depth at the position and the need to support quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
But Green Bay caught many fans by surprise with its decision to take no wide receivers with its nine picks, leading to frustration. As the non-receiver announcements continued to roll in during Day 3 of the draft Saturday, the angst boiled over on social media.

Not very rare at all. He drafted 9 wide received in that last 11 drafts. That’s not rare. And there is no point to the wonderlic. It’s JUNK SCIENCE.
There were 13 WRs chosen yesterday in the 1st or 2nd round.
In 21 years Belichick has drafted a WR in the 1st or 2nd round all of five times. (And none of them have worked out yet.)

Some fondue get drafted, some fondon't.
You said he rarely drafted WRs. You were wrong. Admit it. He averages a little under one WR drafted a year. Which given that Belichick likes to stack draft picks makes them a bit under 10% of his draft picks. Hardly rare.

He has also made 4 FA WR signings SINCE the draft.
He is widely known and studied for how he has avoided drafting WRs, particularly up high and particularly after making a number of bad high WR picks early on.
Oh stop LYING. Look at you you’re still saying he avoids drafting WRs. NINE in ELEVEN DRAFTS. That’s not avoids. I was willing to give you mistaken, but now you’re right back to it. STOP. You’re embarrassing yourself, and reducing yourself to a pathetic lying bag of pus. We’re done. You’re wrong.
More than 10% of an NFL roster is comprised of WRs, and WRs tend to have short careers (at 2 years, while the average career of NFL player, WRs included, is 25% longer).
Belichick has only picked 12 WRs in the last 16 drafts. He has also only picked a WR in 6 of the last 10 years and 1 WR in the top 2 rounds only once in the last 7 years.
