Many years ago, a good friend of mine went under the spell of this Bakker guy after his wife unexpectedly passed away. Sold his house and most of his stuff and moved to their “compound” which then was in SC. Pretty much became a pauper.

when i used to fly into Charlotte, planes often flew low right over the ruins of this compound on their way to landing in Charlotte; the compound came to look like a ruined aztec or roman city completely overgrown with wild jungle ... it was quite a site from the air ...
