I definitely more limited meat selections at Costco. The Costco I go to has not had boneless chicken breast for a while.

Lots of unemployed illegal aliens.

Now would be the time to remove them.

the tyson dude was on a few days ago saying everything was fine with the overall food industry and transportation- and that they could easily transition to smaller packages for stores if they had to- (I guess a large part of their contracts is with large orders/packaging for insitutions)

I think the UK is trying to incite panic buying to keep this hysteria going

I like bacon...and that's about it from a pig.

I have cattle....so I could butcher one of them.

If it gets down to it...I can kill a deer everyday if I have to.

We’re looking at real food shortages in the US later in the summer and fall. The madness needs to end soon, people need to be able to get back to work.

MILLIONS of Demonrats have been screaming for years to take meat away from the proles, because “green” nonsense. Well, they never let a crisis go to waste. Better stock up now, and make a deal with a local farmer to buy 1/4 or 1/2 a cow now, because soon, the Demonrats will have what they want: nobody but the elite will be able to afford meat.

Excuse to jack up prices of pork for their remaining pork processing plants.

this scurrilous, anti-American, anti-Trump rag has been trying to promote their phony “food shortage” for over two months now ... they must put out a variation of this story at least once a week ... the DM is pissed ever since Melania sued and won millions from them, and they’ve been doing everything in their power since then to spread fear, uncertainly, doubt, and panic in our country every since then ... they’re actually worse than China from that perspective ...

“I definitely more limited meat selections at Costco. The Costco I go to has not had boneless chicken breast for a while.”

costco and their sister warehouse chains sell mostly factory overruns, that is, excess goods the regular grocery stores can’t sell ... with all the restaurants closed, folks who used to eat out are having to buy their own groceries and cook for themselves and the regular grocery stores can barely keep up, so there are few factory surpluses for the warehouse stores for now ...

I live in the same community as this Tyson plant...adjoining town.

the local media, county supervisors, and other leftist subversives basically shamed Tyson into closing this plant.

While I am not a fan of Tyson as a company, it is typical leftist bullshit at work here.

I would venture to guess that tyson will give the place a thorough cleaning, and open it back up within a few days.

stay tuned.

Here’s one area that I’m well stocked.

We raise all our own pork, chicken, turkey, and lamb, and have about 3/4 of a cow in the freezer. We’re stocked up for a good year, without cutting back at all.

Looks like my stash might be worth some big dollars in the near future.

I sincerely hope there are no shortages, but I think far more damage has already been done to our economy than most people can conceive.

I fear we are heading for some very difficult times that will shock most people.

“Fear” is becoming so over-used (like “racist” or “better safe than sorry” or “shelter in place”) that it’s losing it’s impact. It seems that a vast number of Americans are “fearful” of just about anything to do with the Chinese Virus and “fearful” of most everything else over the past six weeks ... including far, far too many “men”.

Hundreds of employees are out sick for a couple weeks for what for most of them will be a crappy cold. Probably single digits will die if that. And most of those will be the “exercise sucks dieting sucks” overweight diabeetus types.

Meanwhile, the plant has some downtime, cleans up, and the employees come back to work when they’re better.

This “food shortage” crap is just more panic mongering, probably trying to trigger panic buying and empty shelves for the TV cameras.

I can’t imagine how hard it is for a company to keep people working at a meat packing plant, when those same people can quit, say “I was worried about getting sick”, and get paid almost $3000 a month in “unemployment” to sit at home and watch Netflix.
