Wikipedia has info on the corporation that owns LYSOL.
Link to entry:
This company is based in the UK and has connections to the Netherlands.
It is unclear where its manufacturing is done.
Basically, stores are out of Lysol products such as the disenfectant spray and Lysol wipes.
One can get OZIUM as a replacement.
According to literature on OZIUM, hospitals use OZIUM.
Right now (in my opinion), there should be disenfectant sprays and disenfectant wipes available.
Maybe someone can start an American corporation to compete with Lysol.
A good place would be the Texas/Louisiana Gulf coast because of all the refineries (chemical production capability).
In terms of Louisiana, Lafayette is the highest point (hence 'safer' from hurricanes between Houston, TX and New Orleans, LA.
The other key fact is that Lysol uses hydrogen peroxide as a key disenfecting ingredient.
Wow, that is wonderful luck to find Bounty paper towels. I havent seen them yet in my stores, though I havent gone to look at CVS. Im generally trying not to go out very often, but then again, some days you have to. I cant wait for the days when I can go somewhere besides a big box store. Before all this happened we were wanting to upgrade our bed to a king size. We started noticing that we were getting better sleep at hotels with king size beds, and thought it would be a nice gift to each other to have extra space. Im not the type to buy much online if I dont know what it really looks like, so it will be nice when the furniture stores open back up. If they open up.
On the contrary, Benzalkonium Chloride is widely used in hospitals as a disinfectant and antibacterial.
Triclosan replace Hexachlorophene in toothpastes, and soaps because of it’s neurological dangers.
Without the use of antibacterial soaps, shampoo, etc. we’d all smell like soup.
Have you every smelled raw soap.
Well, why not just use hydrogen peroxide? A qt. of 70% alcohol used to cost about $2.50, but about all i see now is outlandish prices, except 32oz CVS Health 70% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol, Unscented: $2.39 Only in stores. https://www.cvs.com/shop/cvs-health-70-isopropyl-rubbing-alcohol-unscented-prodid-1011770
Mail order is 64oz- for $12 and going up.

Benzalkonium chloride (as Roccal or Zephiran) was found to inactivate influenza, measles, canine distemper, rabies, fowl laryngotracheitis, vaccinia, Semliki Forest, feline pneumonitis, meningopneumonitis, and herpes simplex viruses after 10 min of exposure at 30 C or at room temperature. Poliovirus and encephalomyocarditis virus were not inactivated under the same conditions. It was concluded that all viruses tested were sensitive except members of the picorna group. The literature was reviewed.

Triclosan was prohibited as antiseptic by the FDA ruling in 2019. Benz Chloride was deferred for further analysis (still permitted). I know it is widely used as a general disinfectant; I don’t know if it is effective against Sars-Cov-2 or in what conditions. See texasgator’s post above - 10 minutes to disable viruses in vitro - who knows how effective in vivo as used in common practice. A simple wipe-down or spray over surfaces is enough? I don’t know if it evaporates or leaves a residue that lasts 10 minutes.
o may have to go that route if stores don’t stock up on those htings soon- i do have 1 bottle of the hydrogen- will likely make a qweaker cleanign solution to wipe stuff down with that we get from the stores-
Well, it seems even that is hard to keep in stock and is way up in price. I see a pint of Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide 12% for $30!. Maybe NASA has some hi-test hydrogen peroxide it will sell you since it is also rocket fuel.
lol- yep gettign hard to find any of that stuff- our local walmart and local grocery store has a sign in the area that they stock these things durign normal times, it says “Due to the high demand, please only take one bottle’- but these shelves are always bare- have been for awhile-
Hydrogen peroxide, alcohol etc are as rare as bigfoot-
I wonder if high proof alcohol would work? Alcohol above 90%- woudl be cheaper than any peroxide or rubbign alcohol we coudl find lol
Of course, but so will soap and water.
yeah i’m gonna keep a 2 liter bottle of soapy water in car- to wash hands, face, neck etc IF i have to go to places like walmart where there are a ton of people- (I also wash clothes when i get home- and have a towel on seat of car and over shirt to put on over my shirt when i get out of store just to try to contain any virus that coudl be on clothes- if any- I’m around older people so don’t wanna take any chances- also wash hair and wipe down all products- it’s a load of extra work, but IF we should get it I’ll at least know i did everything i could to try not to- we’re pretty good outi n the country, but problem is city folks come here every weekend because their stores are bare- so they wipe out our stores, and bring the virus with them- we’re getting more and m ore cases now-
Oh well- at least we can still go out and enjoy nature without cops arresting us- one of the perks of living in a small town- but folks still are keeping their distances (Except when they are in stores- I think that is where the majority of new cases are comign from)
Just 3 months ago- noone even gave a thought to any of this- times have definitely changed- for the worse- but we’ll get through it-
Modern Pinesol is nowhere near as effective as the original product. Generic pine oil is what you want, it’s strong enough to knock a buzzard off a $hitwagon.
There ain’t nothing it won’t clean or any pathogen it won’t kill.
