Barr did not "insert himself" into any legal proceeding related to the government harassment of churchgoers. He simply made a public statement indicating that he WAS taking a keen interest in those cases.

It served as an appropriate warning to those governments -- and from what I can see it worked ... because those governments all knew that they'd be facing massive financial penalties when the DOJ came down on the side of all those churches in the Federal lawsuits that would be brought against those governments.

Yup. I took Barr’s comments as a subtle signal that the Trump Administration will have our backs if we choose to protest.

That’s good. Technically, an AG making a public statement on an issue is “inserting himself”, but I’m glad you clarified that it wasn’t done as part of a legal case. I was thinking I had missed something BIG if there had been a case. Thanks!!
