(vanity, rant) Rush drops hammer on Frau Birx for cherry-picking studies that argue against totalitarian measures

Did anybody happen to catch the segment on Rush's show today where he recited two Californian studies (one in Santa Clara one in SoCal) that indicates that anywhere from 44% to 58% of Californians have been infected by covid-19 but didn't know it because so many of those people showed no symptoms.

Piggybacking on upsdriver’s reply, maybe President Dr. Trump hasn’t been hoodwinked. Maybe he knows they are part of the Deep State and is allowing them to expose themselves for what they are.

See post #8. That’s a better answer than mine.

The Stanford study was based on a test that has a specificity of 88.6%. In layman’s terms this means that you have a 50/50 chance of testing positive for the antibody regardless of whether you were actually infected. Garbage in, garbage out.

The latest SHARABLE commentary from VDH.Dr. Hanson hopes we ALL understand that we are, in fact, a REPUBLIC with elements of democracy at the base (our elections) We and our Constitution are shielded to some extent from the PASSIONS OF THE DAY (found in a PURE DEMOCRACY) by the ELECTORAL COLLEGE. That, of course, explains why the Democrat commies wish to abolish it!
The Founding Fathers had utter contempt for democracy. James Madison, principle author of the Constitution, wrote this in Federalist Paper No. 10, “...there is nothing to check the inducements to sacrifice the weaker party or an obnoxious individual.”
He went on: “Hence it is that such democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths. Theoretic politicians, who have patronized this species of government, have erroneously supposed that by reducing mankind to a perfect equality in their political rights, they would, at the same time, be perfectly equalized and assimilated in their possessions, their opinions, and their passions.”
At the Convention, Virginia Gov. Edmund Randolph said that “in tracing these evils to their origin, every man had found it in the turbulence and follies of democracy.” John Adams wrote: “Remember Democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself. There never was a Democracy Yet, that did not commit suicide.”
And Alexander Hamilton said: “We are now forming a republican government. Real liberty is found not in the extremes of democracy but in moderate governments. ... If we incline too much to democracy, we shall soon shoot into a monarchy.”
DB (Sorry for the lengthy personal intro. Just wanted all of us to understand a point the left does not want widely known.)

Trump has to walk a tightrope because of stupid politics. He has to and they know it.

Why? What terrible thing would happen if Trump told Birx and Fauci to take a hike, and told the nation the truth? How would it be worse than what's happening now?

Okay, then provide examples.

Posts get deleted for lots of reasons, but it is not because they are banned, just that they do not follow guidelines. There are some sites that do not allow us to post even links to their articles. If your post does not link to an article but the post is not vanity. Some offer nothing but conspiracy theories, and they are known to be conspiracy centric websites. There are other instances. I'm not a mod so I do not know all the reasons.

I don't think so. Regardless of what he thinks on the inside he understands the power of public perception. He knows the public holds these two in high regard and there's no way he will publicly take a stand against them. At least not at this point. Whatever happens between Trump and the duo will happen behind closed doors, away from the leftard media.

Perhaps. But, even so, these studies offer more substance than whatever information Frau Blucher and Herr Fauci are offering us. Does anybody even know what they are basing their recommendations on?

Well what it the dire predictions had been true? President Trump is not a epidemiologist, so he deferred to those who are supposedly knowledgeable on pandemics. He pretty much had to or face the reality that he caused more deaths. Hindsight always affords as clearer vision. It's so easy being an armchair quarterback. President Trump did not want to close down the economy, in fact he didn't do anymore than suggest people social distance from each other, but he also did not want to be the reason many people died either. All this damage done to our economy lie squarely at the feet of state governors.

I doubt you have ever been in such a position, so you have no idea what decision you yourself might make. So think about that before you start casting disparaging remarks that are totally unwarranted.

Rush played the clip. I was speaking metaphorically. She didn’t directly answer Roberts’s question and he didn’t press her to.

Read post 34. Dr. Birx was right, the study has major flaws.

I may have misheard Rush. He didn't say 44 to 58% of Californians have been infected with covid-19, he said 44 to 58 TIMES as many Californians have been infected than has been reported.

How does either matter if it's a WAG ?
the population of California is approx. 39.5 million.
They have identified 33,897 cases.
A whole hell of a lot more people is infected if it's 58% of the population rather than 58 times the # of cases.

This speculation into truth is madness...

Two evil ‘experts’ who have led to the complete destruction of the U.S. economy. All of this was a fraud, based on phony numbers and they are still clinging to the idea that the worst is yet to come!
