That hits close to home. I had a loved one who had advanced dementia following neck surgery—the dementia seems to have been generated by the anesthetic drugs that were used. But after a couple of months, the drugs left her body and her dementia went away, and she lived several more years.

If you can sign a DNR, you should be able to sign assisted suicide, esp if 6 months to live. Thats what it takes to put someone in hospice.
My mom would have gone for that in a second. The problem is that I was going to have to make decision. Nope...not gonna happen.

I’m so sorry for your family. I work with elderly patients. There are many things that can be done to assist those with dementia. Unfortunately it takes years of training and knowledge to know what can be done to calm dementia patients without sedating them. Very few physicians really understand and as for families often just don’t know what to do. There is value in life, all life, and I hope you would always choose life.

It is about treating you the elderly with great respect and care until the end of their days
It is about treating the handicapped ; the indigent; and those that cannot care for themselves with dignity and respect
What will you see from the merchants of death otherwise known as socialists is there constantly trying to control population
They feel that humanity is a scourge on the planet and they want to eliminats human beings and let the planet live its happy life without us
This can be seen in their non-stop efforts to vaccinate and abort children which kills them every which Way but Sunday

I understand the point you are making and I assure you that it isn't a decision that I would undertake lightly. But for the last few months of her life my grandma lived her days in sheer terror of everything and I can only imagine the sheer hell that she went through. I would not wish that end on anyone and I would certainly not want to go through it myself.
I’d find a way to go the day after the diagnosis. I’ve been dealing with my parents with it for 12 years. However, it is cruel to kill a senior with any awareness at all with dementia. They are like toddlers and they do not know anything is wrong with them. It’s like murdering a child or a baby. Life with them is hell but it doesn’t give you permission to murder them.
I’d say the death has to be undertaken only when the person can soundly agree to it that day. Otherwise it’s too late.
Promoters of assisted suicide cling to their engineered polls that claim a majority are in favor....Helping a person die by suicide is a crime and it’s a survival of the fittest mindset that is it’s foundation.
