Updated projection below. We did take a turn for the better, as I suspected we would yesterday. Fatalities seem to be following the case trajectory by 14 days. Seems to take about 4 days from the time someone is infected until they go to the doctor with symptoms. That means the latest spike in fatalities probably started with activity around the 1st and 2nd of April. This is when many receive their government check and do quite a bit of shopping and resupply. If anyone knows of other reasons, let me know. First graph is my analysis. Second is updated US projected fatalities.

Here’s the latest numbers from earlier today (Wednesday) from Minnesota...

Per the Minnesota Department of Health, they are reporting 2721 positive tests for COVID-19, an increase of 154 cases from yesterday (Tuesday).

19 new deaths were reported, raising the statewide total to 179. NOTE: Since COVID-19 stats have been kept in Minnesota, this represents that largest amount of same day deaths in the state.

1317 individuals with positive tests are no longer isolating, an increase of 63 from yesterday (Tuesday).

Between the Department of Health and private labs, a total of 49344 tests have been conducted, an increase of 1647 tests since yesterday (Tuesday).

Currently 240 patients are hospitalized for COVID-19, an increase of 3 from yesterday (Tuesday). 107 patients are in ICU, an decrease of 10 from yesterday (Tuesday).

The median age of all reported cases is 54. The median age of all hospitalized cases is 64. The median age of all deaths is 83.

Of all cases, 51% are female and 49% are male.

By ethnicity, whites comprise 61% of all cases and 75% of all deaths. Blacks comprise 13% of all cases and 6% of all deaths. Hispanics comprise 8% of all cases and 3% of all deaths. Asians comprise 4% of all cases and 1% of all deaths.

Once some states start “opening up” it will be interesting to see the effects after a few weeks....your totals may be in the ballpark while the states numbers have very significant up movements (in the “free” states) and down movements in the “slave” ;-) states.
