Great post!

Great examples of projection, too. The thing that struck me most about the homeschool illustration was how totally OPPOSITE the reality is. Most people who have experienced or observed homeschooling know that (in not all, but nearly all cases) homeschoolers have way more time to play outdoors than children who attend government schools. One major reason for that is that less time is wasted by homeschoolers.

Homeschoolers have told me that they spend 2-3 hours per day on schoolwork. (Any homeschoolers out there, please correct me if I’m wrong or post if your experiences are different.)

In government schools, there is so much time wasted doing things homeschoolers don’t have to do.

1. Lining up to march to another classroom. Gym, library, lunchroom, art room, music room.

2. Repeating information that the brighter kids already knew, the average kids caught on to the first or second time, but the slower kids have not yet grasped. This is also a factor in homework where government schools assign 10 or 15 or 50 homework problems and most of them are either “make work” or they are drill for the slow kids.

3. Dealing with discipline problems. (Yes, homeschoolers can be discipline problems, but 30 kids don’t get put on pause while one kid is dealt with.

4. Government mandated (non-) lessons. Filling out paperwork to give your name, address, etc. Filling out surveys. The school equivalent of workplace “diversity training”.

5. Other general administrative nonsense. Reading the lunchroom menu over the loudspeaker to the entire school. Nearly anything that is announced to the whole school over the loudspeaker. All the forms that are sent home in kids’ backpacks for parents to fill out.

Probably more, but that’s what comes to mind.

g_w, I was working on a big post which ties in a bit with the topic of “Propaganda” when I got sidetracked by your post. ;-) Coming soon....

Maybe the two lanterns “two if by sea” is referring to what’s going on with the big operations re: drugs and human trafficking/(other?) in Caribbean/Pacific next to MX.

The dog that didn’t bark to me is I have seen NO news whatsoever about any of this in many days. Nada, not a sqeuak or word.
