A police shooting at a crowded Walmart in San Leandro, California, fatally wounded a man brandishing a baseball bat. Graphic cellphone video of the officer-involved shooting, which circulated widely online, shows responding officers tasing suspect Steven Taylor, 33. He then refused to drop the bat and was shot, leaving a trail of blood on the floor as he stumbled away. Despite life-saving measures, Taylor died from his injuries at the scene. The use of deadly force is under investigation.

Please, tell us your sage suggestion on how to subdue the guy with the bat. better yet, tell us about the time you did it.
But video of the incident appears to show police shooting the man in the back as he walks away from them, after he drops the bat.

They really should post signs, GUN FREE ZONE. That would have stopped this nonsense. People need to know that if there were more gun laws...this would stop......eh... wait...eh... NO...

100% agree. I know there are limp-wrist Freepers who will object as usual. How many more times will the cops give you warnings after verbal and tazer shots? 10 ? I can see if they shot the puke without warning but the idiot was given warnings.
On the video, he was holding the bat, not swinging “wildly.”

He was holding a baseball bat, not a gun. And look closely. They shot him while he was holding the bat. You hear the bat drop. Then they shot him a couple more times after he’s on the ground.
Have to disagree. In the movies little people disarm big men easily. In real life it needs a big strong man with fast reflexes.One good hit from a club and your out.
A month ago my first thought wouldn’t have been of a little brown flying animal, it would have had Louisville Slugger written on the side.
I took my jacket off.........very quickly wrapped each sleeve around a wrist and used the jacket to absorb the bat swings until I got the jacket wrapped once around the bat........pushed the guy backwards until he tripped and just as he hit the floor, yanked the bat out of his hands.
That’s how I disarmed a crack head with a bat.
