No arguments here.

Only thing is some of them dress as conservatives going in and then change their clothes in the bathroom after being elected.

Do you honestly think we should have just did what Sweden did?

Absolutely! The population of the U.S. is approx. 380 million. In the 2017-18 flu season, approx. 49 million people were infected, the remaining 330 million weren't........Why?

We are very, very close to allowing politicians to create a state ruled by Martial Law.

No....Not really....

Martial Law implies direct military control over civilian populations.

Not even close.

Go ahead throw up your silly straw-man arguments....

“... if the death rate is the same as flu then government can’t do this going forward.”

Why not? Who says? By what law?

Ankle braceletting American citizens depends upon their particular disease’s percentage number?

Hmmmmmmm........

Maybe you haven’t studied history: We used to hold slaves and not let women vote. We the People tend to strengthen our positions and don’t just let history rule over us.

Don’t go blaming history for bad actions.

I guarantee you that you have been exposed. Everyone has.

= = =

What proof of this do you have?

(Not just your supposition/opinion.)

They do this in Taiwan (ankle bracelets). $30,000 fine if they break quarantine. Only people are are upset are the quarantined ones. The general pop agrees with this. Taiwan only has 400 cases and 6 deaths.
There are times in history where the good of the masses has to be considered over the individual.

In many ways Taiwan is freer than here esp where Regulations are concerned. The people care about each other and the country as a whole. What is the problem with controlling a few jerks who could care less if you die compared to the “freedom” of going around infecting others?

Yes,

As the corona virus scare fades, we need to create a list of all activist judges, show boating mayors, governors, heads of government agencies that seized the opportunity to promote themselves at the expense of civil/constitutional rights.

We need to take THEIR ACTIONS and THEIR WORDS, and hold them accountable for them may they be liberal or conservative. Let’s make lemonade from lemons and use this scare as a litmus test for those assholes that should be removed from serving in any public office local or federal.

Screaming the loudest for an angry mob, jumping on the bandwagon, going along with every fad or trend is NOT what upholding the US Constitution is about, that is not what “the law” and “truth” are about. There is no consistency in those that behave like that. There is no true leadership in that. They are merely throwing themselves in front of every wave of bullshit and surf on top of it promoting themselves and climbing to the top by making themselves the loudest screamer for whatever the flavor of the day is.

THIS IS GREAT!

Everyone has always said that Republicans are too comfortable to make a populist revolution in the United States.

Well, guess what?

I’m not throwing up a straw man.
I really don’t care if you agree with me or not.

I AM telling you that back in ‘96, I was on a public white water rafting trip, I was assaulted by 3 drunk off duty police officers and sent to the emergency room.
My crime...sitting on a public picnic table in an area they decided belonged to them.

One of them was the City Supervisor of the City of Sonoma.
Their wives cheered them on as they beat me.

I had 10 witnesses to the event and I could have easily had them all arrested and charged with assault and battery....
until I found out the leader was the above City Supervisor and ex-cop.

I hadn’t a chance to get justice.

This wasn’t a straw man.....this was a felony done by paid gov officials against an American legally exercising his rights.

Oh and I’ve never done drugs, never abused any chemicals of ANY kind.

“a few jerks who could care less if you die “

You mean, “who couldnN’T care less”?

“What is the problem with controlling a few jerks who could care less if you die compared to the “freedom” of going around infecting others?”

So tyranny today re flu is OK, but it might not be OK another time depending on who’s calling the shots? Situational ethics — never was a fan.

So many opinions on this forum and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Nice story...sorry you were abused by city officials.

But I was referring to the statement you made about the coming Martial law.

Which you did not address.

It does seem you could have simply moved instead of getting your ass kicked....but I wasn't there.

There is no law - it comes from an executive order which may or may not be legal (funny how they can save illegals within minutes by blocking XOs but can’t seem to do the same for this)
In general though, it’s been settled law that in times of plague outbreaks government can reasonably restrict populaces to help prevent transmission.
Keyword - reasonably and it’s generally been limited to specific individuals or small groups - never entire states like this.

Serious question here. Are our elected officials leaders or representatives for the people who voted them to office?

I am having a hard time justifying our “Representatives” canceling our enumerated rights.
