For most, that is not the case now.Oh, there a few who prefer freedom and responsibility,but the majority opt for security over freedom and responsibility.They prefer being ruled to being governed.They prefer having their decisions made for them vs. making their own.

I'm not quite sure if the majority of colonists were on board with the revolt.
But enough were.
