In January 2020, Çakmak decided to document an amazing makeover transformation of a homeless man named Hayri.
Hayri, who has been living off the streets for five years by choice due to some family issues, visits the salon on some cold mornings to get coffee, tea, or water. However, Çakmak was surprised why the downtrodden man never asked for a haircut.
The passionate blogger then came up with an idea to offer the homeless man a free haircut and makeover treatment. To his surprise, Hayri didnt agree to this random act of kindness on the spot. Somehow, Çakmak said Hayri changed his mind the next day and accepted his generous offer.
Hayri looked totally unrecognizable after the makeover; those who watched the transformation video were also surprised at how different his new look was.
To make the mans makeover complete, Çakmak headed to the next task on hand: taking Hayri to a shopping mall to get him a new set of clothes and a pair of brand-new shoes.

Good for this barber and for his client - cleaning up your appearance can do wonders for your state of mind and your positivity. Not so dramatic, but I managed to finally get a haircut yesterday - the girl who usually cuts my hair agreed to take in some customers in her home since her shop is still closed. Got my low fade, looking right and feeling right this morning.
And, scroll down and the wall comes up.
The rest of the story is that he's been avoiding Enzo the Barber for years.
It really is amazing that the homeless man, cleaned up and neatly dressed, looks so much like the skilled, courteous, smiling barber. Like an older brother. Kindness is a language everybody understands.
amazing transformation. Cakmak is “Flint, or firemaker” in Turkish. I was stationed at Cakmakli back in 87-88. Right outside Istanbul. Good times back then.

Yes, and so does a change in your routines along with it. This Barber went even further with new clothes for the guy. It would be interesting to see if his life indeed has moved on from the streets
As a hairdresser / barber for 42 years I was glued to the video..
thanks for sharing..
and that stylist deserves HIGH FIVES from everyone..great job..
just smh..and bringing back many memories...and very obvious the stylist loves what he does.. God Bless Him...
He doesn’t look that old, being on the streets for 5 yrs. I wonder what his life was prior.
So was I, his techniques and skill of his profession were very apparent. Notably was how carefully he managed the cut.
Nice but not that surprising.
Thanks, what a wonderful story.

Do folks remember the Hill Street Blues episode in which this happened?
