Except you may not know if someone in the house has it or not until it’s too late.

Our house has always been open to the fresh breeze anytime it is between 40 and 90 in the daytime.

I found out from a neighbor that the neighbor on my other side has it.

My windows will be staying shut for the time being and I am wearing a mask when I go outside in case they come out.

That's quite possible. For some people, their COVID-19 status will be known or the risk of infection assessed to be low that they make the decision to run AC.

I have central AC, but go for the open windows approach as long as I am home.
