Are masks and gloves all you need to save yourself from certain death from the Coronavirus?
For certain high risk procedures where there is extreme infection risk to the PATIENT they will suit up.
But most wear THIS:

Beer Goggles! They're not just for Saturday nights!
They put the "Wow" in the Bow-Wow!
While standing in line at the grocery store yesterday, waiting to get in...I was suddenly aware of the cologne from the woman in front of me...being wafted on the breeze...from 8 feet away. Everyone behind me was downwind also.
Now...what good is 6 feet of "social distancing" gonna do ya?
“...Are masks and gloves all you need to save yourself ...”
No... a healthy dose of Tanqueray GIn and Tonic water (which has quinine, by the by) with a lime or lemon in it works well too... about a 12 ounce glassful...
But you absolutely MUST have one of these PER HOUR for every hour you’re home from work in order for it to have an effect...
Old home remedy, you see...
how rednecks prepare for the coronavirus

are you prepared for the coronavirus??
Welcome to the new paradigm.
This week I was walking down the aisle of my local Home Depot. Coming the opposite way was a guy with a WW1 gas mask. He was prepared for the worst.
> N95s have a oneway valve
Many N95 rated masks do not have any valve.
Agree that the valve is not a good idea when seeking to prevent infecting other people.
That guy is a genius. I sure wish he was my neighbor.....
“You can have it, for a limited time only, for a special price of $49.95.”
Hah. I bet you’re one of the 6000 sellers that Amazon kicked off their site for price gouging. I’m selling mine for $19.95, and Amazon has left me alone.
Everyone (yeah not EVERYONE, but you know what i mean) is acting like they are guaranteed to die if they get this virus.
Nothing could be further from the truth. The going rate is about 2%; 98% recover, even many older people recover. Evidently, the deaths will be fewer than seasonal flu which most people don’t think twice about trying to protect themselves from. (flu vaccine excepted, the luck of the draw on that one).
Gloves (and masks) need to be treated as if they are covered in the virus or the false sense of security and poor methodology for removing and disposing of them can be every bit as hazardous as being in a room full of sick people.
Pizza makes me feel better....
I’m with you. It’s either street clothes and take my chances or wear a full hazmat suit at all times.
Think I’ll go with option number 1.
Certain death? No. Certain loss of your constitutional freedoms, perhaps. If you go along with the erosion of your constitutional freedoms, you will lose them for sure.
Might you die if you get the Chinese virus? Yes. Most folks don’t die, though.
Might you die if you get the flu? Yes. Most folks don’t die, though.
Are you wise enough to figure this out for yourself? Only you can answer that one.
Unless you have the medical-grade masks that doctors and nurses wear then the mask you wear is not to protect you from Covid-19 but to protect others from you.
My daughter in law is a surgical nurse. Cotton surgical masks do not prevent the passage of germs. They prevent droplets, hair, and other crud from entering the work area. If they are concerned about contagion, there is another mask they wear.
A cotton bandana will stop particles 200 microns and larger. A washed bandana, 400-600 microns and larger. An N95 will stop .5-.3 microns depending on what manufacturer data you believe. By the way, COVID 19 is .125 microns.
Basically, if you can see light through your mask or water can pass through your mask, it isn’t doing anything for anyone.
Go naked
Thatll ensure all those pesky virus carrying people keep a safe distance
You just listen to your lumpy governess and youll be safe
