First Responders More Equal Than Others
15 April 2020

Posted on 04/15/2020 3:59:03 PM PDT by rey

In certain counties, first responders (police) are allowed to enter stores before others and make their purchases without any rationing. As Orwell wrote, some pigs are more equal.

Everyone should have to live under the same rules, ESPECIALLY THE POLICE. To allow them special privileges and to escape the inconveniences associated with this lockdown is disgusting. Law enforcement must understand what it is like to live like those they have power over. To allow them special privilege is license for abuse and makes them more inclined to enforce laws that have no impact on them what so ever. . It smacks of the Stanford Experiment. It is a technique that was used to enable the Stasi to be so abusive toward those they over saw.

Add to it that local government is allowing ranking health officials to make law dictating what is jail able and what is not. Here, in CA, they are releasing prisoners and threatening to jail people who do not wear masks.

The people enforcing the law have little if any regard for the constitution they swore to uphold and defend. I cannot count how many have told me they are simply doing what they are told to do.

CA is talking about masks for a year. A friend who works in law enforcement in another state says he heard masks possibly until mid 2022.

END THE LOCKDOWN NOW!

Your son in law is paid. It is his job. Just like when I was a Marine or when I take a dozer to fight a fire. It is my job. I expect nothing more.

Police are there to treat the citizens as criminals because the politicians have passed so many laws that we are all now guilty of something. I personally have no use for cops. Define first responders. Around here EMTs make almost nothing but cops make good money. Firefighters range from volunteers to entrenched city workers.

I still personally hate cops. Even my law abiding 75+ year old mother thinks cops are just out to harass the citizens for $$$$$. She hasn’t broken the law on purpose ever. Yet she will turn away from the police because she can’t afford some made up revenue shakedown for 150-300 dollars.

I can shoot a robber but can’t shoot a badged extortionists. Cops no longer protect and serve. Tax and grab and look out for their own.

You mean their families aren’t helping out the person who is doing all the work and bringing home the paycheck?

Shame on them.

Shame.

wouldn't it be a little bit fairer for those that continue to work on the front lines be given a little bit of an advantage?

They already have an advantage: it's called having jobs and still working and collecting their full checks, and in some cases, with extra pay.

Compare that against the many millions who didn't get to keep their jobs and have been rendered completely helpless and at the mercy of government, with 'stimulus' checks that in most cases don't equal whatever they used to get paid.

So what, my house smelled like the farm when I came home.

I didn’t like it, so I left.

You need to have a talk with your SIL and daughter. tell them to get their priorities straight, quit the job and move, or shut up about the smell.

Amen, brother.

There’s a real hero; the guy that feeds us with little remuneration and no recognition. I guarantee there would be no hero firefighters without a farmer to feed them.

All hail the farmer! FARMER! FARMER! FARMER! FARMER!

Agree. I am healthcare and by the time I can get to the store in the evening, there is hardly anything available. I would actually like some food. I may have money but cant do much without food to buy.

Folks like you are the worst amongst us.

I’ve put in extra hours, as a LEO, without re-imbursment to make sure you can still get food in the stores. My wife is a NICU nurse, and we haven’t been able to see eachother in nearly a month to keep quarantine and patients and co-workers safe and on the job. I put my life on the line on a regular basis.

We don’t get paid more for that (actually less). We do that because we’re hard wired to help others.

I haven’t, but if my wife or I needed to grab something after a 12 hour shift, before another 12 hour shift, you think some illegal alien or welfare recipent that we totally funded should make us wait?

There’s nothing lower than a person who relies on other people for their care and protection and then dis-regards the price they pay to serve you.

Disgusting.

Well I personally worked 12 hours on weekends and 13 hours on weekdays a in a private job for an entire fall only missing 5 days 2 of which I was too sick to work. The job required inspection of, weighing, and directing. dozens of trucks daily including verifying ID of drivers from all over North America with many having little English.
And dispatching site responders to various alarms involving hazmat.

For less pay and certainly less benefits than police.

There are many thousands of people who work just as hard and deal with serious dangers every day without the perks of police.

Lost the argument, did you? Calling me a jackass may make you feel manly, but it’s an admission you have no rebuttal... You remain a snowflake. You know it, and it just grinds you. Learn the Rule of Holes, when you are in one, stop digging

Customers get additional police protection. A criminal might hold up a liquor store but they're not as likely to hold up the doughnut shop.

Customers also get the most potentially infectious people out of there quickly since the offer is likely for those in uniform (going to work or returning home).

This is similar to weekday or early morning discounts for seniors that have been offered for years: The discounts are not for them; they're for everyone else who won't have to deal with them blocking the aisles and browsing through everything when the store is busiest.

It's also like two-for-one movie night on Tuesdays. It channels the unruliest crowds to the slowest night and away from the Friday and Saturday date nights.

The most hated people I knew in the Marine Corps were those who took advantage. A good leader does not do that.

You need LEOs to provide leadership for you? Any adult (who's not mentally defective) would provide leadership for themselves in public life.

How embarrassing for you.

So time with your kids is more valuable than mine spent standing in line, running from store to store to find the things you can take without limit?

Wow, hand tipped.

You are a selfish, hoarding, awful, self-centered leftist, only concerned about what's best for you.

Yes, my, and my wife's time with our kids IS much more valuable than your's, a lazy, unlovable crank, who spends his time going from store to store to stockpile goods away from honest Americans.

We're doing society a favor keeping you away from impressionable people who you can influence with your horribleness.

That's what you said . Most americans don't rely on you for care and protection , because you don't do either. You only say you do , but that is a lie. You used to be called Peace Officers , and that's what you did, kept the piece . Not you're called Law Enforcement Officers,LEO, and you're merley revenue collector for the State. I'm not interested in your bleating lies.

Insinuating anyone who disagrees with your position is mentally defective is a practically admitting your own position is weak.

We are paying your pensions which are huge compared to any other kind of gov’t worker and your overtime. You do get paid to do all of those risks. If you don’t like the bargain you are getting from the work you are free to do something else and if you are not being paid appropriately, you should do something else. It doesn’t mean people have to give you special rationing privileges like the party elite in communist Russia.

I am a former Marine.

Since there is NO SUCH THING AS A FORMER MARINE, how did you get dishonnorably discharged, or why are you saying you served, when you clearly didn't?

What about the rest of your record of "service" is made up?

Stolen Valor, goes right along with the rest of the things you've attested to.
