An email from my son. Thought I needed to get FR comments and opinions.
Well said tinyowl. You are right on.
There are some troubling developments regarding COVID-19 and its effects on the immune systems T cells. My guess is that the HIV Crispr inserts are going to be an issue within the immune system. The bottom line, do not get this virus if you can help It because of the many unknowns. It is not just a flu.
So is it better to have a weak immune system?
“So is it better to have a weak immune system?”
Our immune system has many complex systems. T-cells, NK-cells, antigens/antibodies, messengers.
T-cells and NK cells destroy human cells. An overly aggressive system can destroy too many cells too quickly, even non-infected cells.
Antibodies seek out the virus directly.
Messengers cause blood vessels to dilate and release blood. This is what happens with viral pneumonia. Blood released into the lungs interferes with O2 absorption.
I repeat my question.
“I repeat my question.”
It depends. Some ‘cures’ are based on weakening the immune system.
You simplistic question cannot be answered yes/no.
Tell your son that it is the human immune response which destroys the virus. Reducing the viral load (how much is in the body) allows the real cure to happen ... the immune system destroys the virus.
Is it simplistic to believe, where this virus is concerned, that maintaining ones health through diet and exercise and a few vitamin supplements, maybe probiotics, is better than being a couch potato?

Non Sequitur.
OTOH OTC probiotics are a scam. Even worse, the may be interfering with good bacteria in your gut.
fwiw i suggest google vitamin d and cytokine storm there was a paper concerning coronavirus but withdrawn..
“Vitamin D inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines”
I don’t see the non-sequitur. And I disagree about probiotics.
“I dont see the non-sequitur. “
Everyone knows being a couch potato is unhealthy. Sad that the fake supplement dudes are taking advantage of this crisis.
“And I disagree about probiotics.”
Whatever. Your money. You probably also take beet pills and Seravital? But best to not push fake remedies to others.
No reason for your insults. Good day.
