The subway and elevators. Every freaking building has elevators. 90% of people in NYC have to ride them multiple times daily. I grew up in Queens, living on the 23rd floor of a high rise apartment building. Most people in NYC live in 8-story apartment buildings with elevators.
When I was riding the subway and buses in NYC back in the ‘80’s, people were squished together like sardines!!
