Rita Wilson warns she experienced 'extreme side effects' after taking chloroquine(Barf)

Rita Wilson, who announced she had contracted the coronavirus with her husband Tom Hanks last month, warned that taking the chloroquine drug that has been touted by the White House as a "game changer," caused her "extreme side effects."

The couple has since recovered from their infection that was reported on March 11, after quarantining in Australia, where they caught the illness.

Hanks cited milder symptoms than Wilson, who was given the contentious drug chloroquine for her treatment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Whoa. I thought she just shortened it to chloroquine because it was too much to say hydroxychloroquine.

She actually took just chloroquine???

So, yeah, she basically drank fish tank cleaner.

At least she won't get ick.

Great catch!

It took 20 posts for FR to note this. Rookie numbers!

This fake news, and all the links within, blatantly conflate the two chemicals. If anyone has found where POTUS touted chloroquine, please link.

Would Death be considered a "side effect" of refusing the medication? Nausea, dizziness, and weakened muscles sound like EFFECTS of having the virus. Or perhaps a side effect of consuming a six pack of XXXX (real Australian beer ... Fosters is packaged pi$$).

So many like her earnestly believe that if they praise this drug the rest of us will start eating swimming pool chemicals just because they have similar sounding ingredients.

Their appraisal of other’s intelligence does a lot to explain the behavior of the press and the Democrats.

They were treated in Australia or New Zealand and it might have been before they started using zinc as part of the regime.

She must have read the label. Then she “got” the side effects.

It happens. I guess.

I am glad she is OK. Not really. Aside for generally not wanting to see people suffer, I don’t know her...so, I don’t care THAT much.

I don’t think they were extreme, but the side effects are listed with every prescription.

This is not news.

We make trade offs with our medical decisions.

Wilson said she was not sure if the drug worked or if her fever broke naturally. However, regardless of whether the drug worked, she said she thinks it caused "extreme side effects" that made her nauseous, dizzy, and weakened her muscles.

I'm not a doctor, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn express last night...

Myopathy or muscle injury/disease is a known side effect of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine. HCQ is safer and better tolerated because of its shorter half life.

“Early clinical features of CQ- and HCQ-induced myopathy
include slowly progressive weakness, which begins with the
proximal limb muscles. The initial symptoms are typically
mild, but the painless proximal weakness in the lower extremities can become more intense over time and can spread
to arms and even the face.”

I thought she was nauseous, dizzy and weak all the time. Now I find out it was the drug that saved her sorry _ _ _.

Chloroquine is to Jim Beam, as Hydroxychloroquine is to Pappy Van Winkle.

Note that the hydroxychloroquine is known to have fewer side effects than the chloroquine.

Rita’s darn lucky to be here after getting the virus. She and Tom both have pre-existing diseases making them susceptible to death from COVID-19. She’s a breast cancer survivor (2015) and he has Type 2 diabetes.

I thought both of them were raving about the treatment they received in Australia for Covid when they were released 10 days ago. I guess when Rita returned to the US and read Trump recommended hydroxy, she decided to attribute her symptoms from Covid to hydroxy and discourage others from getting well with the drug. After all. politics trumps the health of others when it comes to the vacuous Hollywood fantasy set

Isn’t Wilson the volleyball with the handprint on it from a Tom Hanks movie?
