The idea of holding the election as planned in the expectation that the voter turnout would be suppressed enough to guarantee the Republican one seems to have backfired. That’s pretty much what happened.

Incorrect. IIRCC, Republicans tried to move this election off the Dem primary date asthey knew this lopsided turnout would occur.

It appears that the Democrats in Madison and Milwaukee went out to vote despite Social Distancing rules. Those are large cities in Wisconsin and those liberal voters risked the lives of other people just to get out and vote.

The governor is a Democrat, so perhaps it went as planned, and didn’t backfire at all.
