Anthony Causi, a longtime photographer for The Post whose prolific talent and larger-than-life personality made him a beloved and respected figure throughout the New York sports world, died Sunday from the coronavirus at North Shore University Hospital. He was 48.
Causi is survived by his wife, Romina, and their children John, 5, and Mia, 2, as well as his parents, Lucille and John Causi, and sisters Maria Marangelli and Dianna Marotto.
Anthony Causi was our colleague, our friend, and a brilliant journalist, Stephen Lynch, The Posts Editor-in-Chief, said. He was, quite simply, one of the best sports photographers in New York City, capturing all the major moments of the past 25 years. Soft-spoken, funny, but most of all kind he was respected by those he photographed and admired by those with whom he worked.

Hate to sound cold but...who cares??
There’s a pandemic. People are gonna die.
Never heard of him and lived here my whole life.
What a worthless jerk you are.
It is important dont you know that reporting EVERY DAMN DEATH keeps the hysteria alive!! Good Lord this crap has to stop why n the hell arent these damn reporter on lockdown??
They seem proud of it. The it, being assclowns.
Everyone must know, in case only their suffering family remembers.
This man went to my college and had two very young children.
He loved his job and helped others.
He was loved and he is already missed.
Sympathy to his family.
So you are saying if someone happens to die of Coronavirus, then they deserve not to be remembered. Because, if you does of Coronavirus, you were a worthless human being?
Remember: Gov. Cuomo withheld HCQ treatment, which would have saved his life, just to spite President Trump.
Never heard of him but he looked fairly healthy from the photos i googled. Wonder if he had underlying problems.
It’s always about the disease. Why’s it in the headline? I’m with dp0622 on this one but it would be a different story without “of coronavirus” in the headline.
Dude.
We don’t know whether he received HCQ. In any event HCQ doesn’t save every life. It is a standard treatment in many parts of US and other countries and patients still die.
Would you say an85_90% success rate is worth mentioning?
Or is it just to anecdotalw?
How very sad for his family, friends, and colleagues, especially since those who are bereaved can’t be together.
This is starting to remind me of the Iraq war body count that the media had going on... Sorry for this guy’s family...
Why is someone “worthless” because they don’t believe this guys death is any more worthy of mention than a neighbors death, a person no one except a limited number people knows?
Had it not been for the China Virus no one except those he worked for and his family would have taken notice.
The reasonfor the story is twofold.
He was just 48 yrs old.
He died (presumably)from the China virus.
I am quite certain he had underlying health issues because if he did not it would have been mentioned.
My good friends father died from the china virus. His family loved him as well.
Can we publicly celebrate his life in passing as well?
If not why not?
Why is a sports photog more important than my friends father who was 96 yrs old?
Wild guess... Italian? This virus should renamed as “The Italian Flu”. No offense to minorities, but if there is one group being effected by this flu more than others, it appears to be Italians.
I guess I mean that the media only pretends to care... They dropped the soldier stories the day Obama got elected... But our poor soldiers didn’t stop dying.... And they continue to... We just don’t hear about it very much.
Surely, there were ample media photos of flag-draped coffins arriving at Dover AFB?
