The 40% increase is for one agency and the long article gives a clearer picture.
Personally, I want to go on another one this October, health of my wife and I being a factor.
Next year is a long way off for a Cruise Industry that has so much invested in large cruiseships and more on the way.-Tom
People figuring that the crisis will be done by the time next year and precautions will be taken.
I really hope the Cruise lines survive. The Petri dish stuff is BS and can be largely mitigated. Remember that navy ship. The people on that ship are in MUCH closer contact then even the lowest budget cruise ship and not even 10% got infected.
Must be offering some damn good prices.
Im surprized they dont invest in uvc light disinfection for their air circulation systems
I'm not going to help you give the bi-blog a click, but isn't a "travel agency" just a desk, a chair and a phone? Even Frank Costanza could do it.
I wouldn’t take a Cruise for all the Tea in China.
Those ships had problems with fresh water holding tanks bacteria (build up) not to mention passenger stomach problems reported etc., well before C-19.
I figure people are just asking for trouble when they decide to get on some cruise line ship. What a gamble and a waste of time.
I took a 7 day cruise once to the Mexican Riviera, only because a friend had already paid for the cruise, and it was a chance to see if it was anything I’d like to do in the future. No thanks. First and last cruise, and I’d never go back to Mexico. I’d rather get in my car, and drive so I can stop where I want, eat where I want, and see what I want. I took a 3 week bus tour of the British Isles in 2006. I enjoyed it, but it would have been nice to be able to spend more time in some of the places we visited. I’m too old now, and don’t have the money, but if I was younger, and had the chance to do it all over again, I’d fly to Britain, and rent a car, and see as much as I could for as long as I could.
I’m having a hard time believing that, especially this part “... saw a 40% increase in its 2021 cruise bookings compared to 2019.”
I’d take that cruise where you sink a Venezuelan war ship. ;)
The passengers should be denied every life saving drug and procedure.
I’m just trying to speak for a boatload of Freepers.
Already sizing up an Alaskan cruise here.. easiest to get on and offboard for us, no flying.. we both already likely had the CV crud and it will be a far cleaner ship I would hope.
Knock on wood re: health.
Naww...I’m going to Rekall...Rekall
I was hoping people would scare folks about cruises so they’d be cheaper for me
