Major League Baseball is considering a plan that would eliminate the traditional National League and American League alignments for the 2020 regular season if and when it takes place, a high-ranking official told Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports.
Under this scenario, all 30 teams would return to their spring training facilities in Florida and Arizona. The teams would only play games in their respective states and with no fans in attendance. The divisions would be realigned based on the proximity of spring ballparks for ease of travel during the COVID-19 outbreak.

But, if they are going to play, social distancing rules would have to be waived and all players and anyone else participating would have to be tested regularly.
The TV ratings would be enormous in a country starved for sports.

I see that the Masters was pushed back to November. Watching this tournament has always marked the start of spring for me. Hope it goes off this fall as planned.

Well, when we were kids and played scrub games with fewer than full teams, we could get the runner out by plunking him.

This whole narrative is really starting to tick me off.
There is no way to get a vaccine in 18-24 months. Not one that can meet the high standards espoused by the likes of people like Dr. Fauci. Even if someone invented a vaccine today, they would have to enroll the double blind clinical trials, prove efficacy, prove safety. And long term safety obviously cannot be proven in such a short period of time.
What the left party line is talking is gibberish. Even “social distancing” is anecdotal. I do think it has worked, at least to prevent the HC system from being crushed by a surge in demand. But it leaves us exposed to a long term recurrence of disease. Fauci calls it “seasonal”. People who avoided the virus by shelter in place will remain at risk to infection in the future. Are we going to shelter in place for 6 weeks twice a year for the next 3-5 years? Or until a “vaccine” which you’d be crazy to have injected without tons of long term safety data to rely on.
I concede that the HQC+Z-Pac+Zinc is not “proven” either, but the evidence that it is effective is very strong. Safety is very well established. IMO, that regimen is very likely already the vaccine we are looking for. People who have already been infected (asymptomatic, or otherwise suffered through the symptoms) should already have immunity. Everyone else, if you catch the virus and get symptoms take the $5 worth of pills and your body will have time to develop its own immunity.
That’s better than a vaccine. IMO every effort to study this drug combination should be made right now... sure, if people want to develop a vaccine have at it. But right now, something seems to work. It may even be prophylactic (how are the medical personnel avoiding contagion? Yes I know some have been sadly infected and died but we don’t hear about tens of thousands HC workers going into quarantine do we?) but at the very least it seems to work to knock the virus on its heels giving the immune system time to ramp up.
I do not know why they can not play the Masters with NO FANS on the course?

That’s why I’m not buying the vaccine BS. We need to take on COVID-19 head on and build immunity. COVID-19 will become seasonal just like the common cold but it will no longer be “novel” so we will have immunity to it by then.
