Sad that he went that way, basically undoing the high point of his success against Alger Hiss.
He was a brilliant and interesting guy - I think he got in with some bad dudes and took some bad advise (Wage and Price controls - whaat?)
Ever hear Monica Crowley talk about him? Very interesting - she spent several years with him getting together his memoirs, good stuff.
