That’s certainly an unexpected act. Why would a service secretary (who normally stay in the background publicly) fly halfway around the world during a pandemic outbreak to make a speech on a contaminated ship that is leaked to the press about not celebrating a former CO who was fired for leaking to the press? Something smells fishy, and it’s not just the bilge pumps.
Because the CinC is pissed off and wants this crap to stop. Now.
The Captain was a weak link and deserved to be removed. The emotional outburst was embarrassing. The guy shouldn’t be in charge of a floating city.
Because like everything these days there is politics involved. The MSM immediately went into gear trying to portray the Navy in a bad light and the fired CO as a good man just looking out for the welfare of his people.
They have been featuring the cheering for the CO by the ship’s personnel everywhere.
The Navy needed to react quickly and make it clear why the guy was fired and to make it clear, especially to the ship’s personnel, why he was fired and deserved to be fired before the MSM successfully turned the guy into a hero.
I read that he’s the immediate past commander of that ship and is talking the helm temporarily
