Dr. Drew Pinsky is issuing a mea culpa after continually downplaying the danger of coronavirus for months and claiming it was "press-induced panic."
He once said you're more likely to die after being "hit by an asteroid" than the highly-contagious virus. On Saturday, he drastically changed his tune.
"My early comments about equating coronavirus with influenza were wrong. They were incorrect," Dr. Drew said on Saturday, referring to his consistent comments from February and March. "I was part of a chorus that was saying that, and we were wrong. And I want to apologize for that."

I knew it was worse than the flu.
But I also knew the Left would exploit it for everything they could.
If the vile ChiComm Politburo hadn’t covered up what was going on in Wuhan back in early December 2019, the world wouldn’t be in such a mess right now.
As it is, we should NOT trust ANYTHING the ChiComms, Iran, or other hostile countries have to say about this virus.
That's because the virus was so wide-spread by the beginning of the year that everyone is protected by herd immunity. I'm not a flubro. I just play one on FR.
He will never be believed again. He should have prefaced with “in my opinion” or concluded with “...in my opinion.” However, without that he was stating a fact, and when you miss-state a fact, it is a lie. (...in my opinion.)
To be fair, we were programed by the previous “pandemics” over the last 20 years, which proved to be extraordinarily un-serious

There's even a vaccination for the strain of Corona that dogs are susceptible to.
That's what we should be outraged about. Dr. Trump found a cure for this coronavirus in what?, a month?, while people have been dying from the flu for decades?
They may as well. This whole thing is absurd.
This is a decent man, as opposed to Pelosi and De Blasio who will never admit that they were wrong... and that people died who believed what they were saying.

Why apologize? It is no more dangerous than the flu. In fact, in all but 5 or 6 states, if the word Covid19 had never been uttered, no one would realize that anything significant was happening. This virus is basically hitting NYC and the surrounding areas (New Jersey, esp.), Detroit, New Orleans, and Seattle (although it apparently has stopped cold in Washington state). Would people in California—a state with 40 million people, have noticed 200 deaths? Would North Dakotans had noticed 3 deaths? Nebraska 8 deaths? Kentucky 40 deaths? And these numbers are exaggerated because every 90 year old in a hospice who dies now is labelled “Covid19” so the medical provider can get a government check. It’s the FLU!
And don't forget, former cokehead.
He was also receiving death threats supposedly.
Dr Drew also apparently volunteered to help in NY or CA. Celebrity stuff aside, he seems like a knowledgeable internist.
I think Drew was guilty of some sunshine pumping, but he’s admittedly said on his previous podcasts he was having anxiety about the news. Seems like he understated the risk to calm the uncertainty and anxiety.
He’s changed his tune the last several podcasts, but his early statements were way off
