Travel the globe with EarthCam's live webcams!

I was checking some sources of Real Time Web Cams for street scenes to see if people are wearing fabric masks. I immediately got side tracked.

This page organizes links to web cameras down the left  by US States at the top and then foreign countries below them.

https://www.earthcam.com/network/

I'll put a few links below but can recommend the national monument cameras in D.C. The capitol also has a "bloom cam" but of course nothing is blooming right now. There's a statue of liberty cam that has bubbles in the view and if you click on the bubble you access that camera view.

I am enjoying looking around the nation.

I used to visit a 24/7 webcam in Ireland trained on an area of a garden in which the homeowner leaves food out for foxes. I did so until I got enough of hungry-little-fox-cuteness.

I know some people love to watch certain cams in favorite locals of foreign countires. A 16 boy I met, an aspiring architect, asked me "What's your favorite skyline?" His favorite was in Saudi Arabia and he was knowledgeable about skylines around the world - recognizing hard to pronounce locales at glance. He was incredulous I didn't do that. He was watching the construction of a building overseas and understood much about how it was designed. SO much to learn out there... :)

It's dark in Dublin, Ireland, and I just saw a garbage truck go by:

This is only one site. There are many different websites with various libraries of web cams. You may want to check out home towns or places where relatives live. I sometimes watched web cams focused on inlets on areas where whale pods are known to feed. Travel the world while self distancing.............

Time to visit the countries you've thought about touring? You can use screen capture software to get pictures of landmarks with little to no traffic or crowds. :)

Most computers have free screen capture software and software to crop the image to just the "good part". On Windows computers, Snipping Tool lets you choose portions of the screen to save as image files.

THere are also free downloadable programs if you don't like Snipping Tool or have a MAC.

This is my favorite cam, Navarre Beach, always good to check surf and conditions before going.

But it’s also just lovely to watch sometimes. Sunsets, storms, people scouring the beach all night long for something. Hurricanes usually knock it out early on.

No one’s there now.

Enjoy it; this is the only “traveling” we’re going to be doing for awhile.

You're welcome.

There are also video tours that let you view the sites you choose from the visual standpoint of a visitor. It's good to "get out" sometimes! I'll put the link to the article I just posted featuring some tours below:

I wish they had a webcam at Grand Central. I visited a friend in Manhattan yesterday, arriving from Connecticut on Metro North. When I was walking through the main terminal area, which is ordinarily packed with hundreds and hundreds...I was one of three people in that huge hall.

“Broomecan dot info” is an interesting webcam. Broome is a small beachside town on the west coast of Australia and the camera shows the beach and the Indian Ocean. They’re 12 hours ahead of EDT so it’s still dark there right now.
