The problem is that cases take so long to resolve.

If you have issues it often kills you fast.

Many of the rest it tortures to death over days, weeks or even months.

In some locales the current death rate from all causes is as much as 16 times the rate from last year. But only 4x of the deaths are attributed to CCP-19. That leaves 12x attributed to “normal” causes. I’ll concede the 1x of “normal” (should be lower due to lockdowns and social distancing) and another 1x due to HCS collapse (a very generous concession, IMO). What about the other 10x?

The rates vary considerably between locales. 16x is perhaps the most egregious. But, still...

Here is a chart from JP Morgan's analysts giving our location in a nicely order queues. Which is kinda BS, because every country is going to have it's own trajectory based on many different factors. Btw, it blows the theory the virus has been circulating in the US for months, out of the water. Notice no date - says to me, they aren't too sure when the peaks will occur. There's a link to more reading, but not much, below the graph.

I initially read that as "same transaction by the millions", which clearly doesn't apply to me. Maybe tens, hundreds occasionally.
