Twitter Facebook Messenger Pinterest Email print Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo and two assistant coaches contacted a witness in a 2017 investigation of criminal sexual conduct involving a basketball player before the witness had discussed the incident with police or school investigators, records newly obtained by ESPN show. MSU student Brayden Smith was with then-freshman guard Brock Washington on the night a female student said Washington forcibly groped her, according to a Michigan State University police report obtained by ESPN through a public records request to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office. On Aug. 31, 2017, the female student told police that Washington grabbed her butt without her consent, tried to pull her to the floor despite her telling him no, reached toward her vagina and kissed her without her consent, according to the Michigan State University police report.

It doesn’t look good, but I’m not going to speculate based on media info. innocent until proven guilty. And as a Penn State fan, I know better than to buy the media hype over the actual evidence.
Fire em and prosecute.
Penn State? My boyhood hero was Joe Paterno. Then everything he stood for and worked for went down. His own fault.
Before anyone else comments, I suggest you read the article. This is complete bs. Izzo coached the kids dad. He wasnt trying to influence any investigation. BTW, the whole allegation smells. The alleged victim invited this basketball player back to her room, admitted that she consented to kissing him, etc. He tried to get to second base. Lesson: Dont lead a man on and he wont try to get in your pants.
He was railroaded based on second hand info which he did report. Scapegoated
“Brayden Smith was with then-freshman guard Brock Washington on the night a female student said Washington forcibly groped her,”
Did she SLAP him?
“grabbed her butt without her consent, tried to pull her to the floor despite her telling him no, reached toward her vagina and kissed her without her consent,”
Grabbed her butt? Big deal. SLAP!
TRIED to pull her to the floor? Speculation as to his intentions.
“Reached” “toward” her vagina? How vague is this? SLAP!
“Kissed” her? OMG! SLAP!
Before you all jump all over me, I have 3 words for you.
Duke Lacrosse Case.
Paterno was innocent; and Sandusky was too.
I say this as someone who has no connection to Penn State, save for having attended one football game there in 2002 and cheering for their opponents.
You could do worse than to read this five part op-ed by the pastor of a United Methodist Church published by a Johnstown, PA, newspaper earlier this year.

Fire him NOW.
“Lambert told police she said she initially and briefly consented to kissing Washington in her room...”
“Lambert’s roommate had been in the room asleep when they entered, according to the police report. Her roommate told police that she heard the two kiss and heard Lambert say, “No, my roommate is right there,...”
“she was not able to witness any interaction. “[The roommate] said she tried to stay quiet and still because she did not want to embarrass [Lambert],” “
“... a kiss they exchanged in the hallway after the encounter in the room...”
(Smith) “told university investigators that Lambert “appeared to be the initiator” of the kiss in the hallway.”
“Washington told police in an interview on Sept. 8, 2017, that, once in the room, he asked Lambert if he could kiss her, and she responded, “Yes.” He also said, while he and the woman kissed in her room, he did put his hands on her butt. He told police, “I thought she was OK with it,” and when asked by police, he said he did it for “gratification.” He said that he did not try to touch her vagina or attempt to get her on the floor. “I wasn’t sure I had consent to do anything else. I just did what I had consent to do,” he told police, according to the report, which also stated that Washington said he would not think about having intercourse with someone whom he had just met.”
Yes, I left out the incriminating things said after or before these quotes. “Qualifying” statements like “WHEN” did you start beating your wife?”
This doesn’t stop these statements from being true.
I don’t know what happened, but it sure seems a lot to do about NOTHING! Handled poorly by the girl.
Were ANY of you people ever YOUNG?
Did you ever kiss a girl? or try to?
Did you ever touch a girls breast or butt without first getting permission? Any guy answering NO to that is GAY!
Got to read to the very end of the article before you come to the money line:
Izzo announced on Jan. 23 that Washington was indefinitely suspended from the team, and he did not rejoin the team during the duration of the season.
And there, you have the rest of the story........Good Day!
Steve Smith remains very close to Tom Izzo, and in turn Tom is very close to Brayden.
It's not like Izzo reached out to a complete stranger to try to get him to change his story. Izzo has an ongoing personal relationship with Brayden.
Thanks for the link. Im an 83 graduate of PSU and was a huge Paterno fan. It sounds like Sandusky was the victim of overzealous trial lawyers with dollar signs in their eyes. The witnesses were coached and changed their stories and some did not pass the smell test. Yet the college paid out $100 M to the victims.
If Tom Izzo was coach at UNC for the last 35 years, he’d have been home free.
Innocent?
AYFKM?
If your so sure, You better hurry up and notify the Pennsylvania AGs office with your information?
I assure you I've read a lot more about his case than you have. (Including e.g. his principal accuser's book.) It reminded me of the Amirault case in Massachusetts that Dorothy Rabinowitz wrote about in the editorial pages of the Wall Street Journal. But if you get your news from the Obama lovers, you wouldn't know about that case either.
